Chapter 73: The Trap Is Set

---

1. The Enemy Moves

Three nights after Jinwoo's declaration of war, Hyun-seok finally responded.

The first body was found in a quiet alley in Gangnam—one of Jinwoo's informants, throat slit, a message carved into his chest.

"Come find me, King."

The second was one of Jinwoo's arms dealers—gutted and left outside his own warehouse.

Hyun-seok wasn't running.

He was sending a message.

And Jinwoo?

He was done playing defense.

---

2. A Deadly Proposition

Jinwoo sat in his car outside a luxury bar in Itaewon, drumming his fingers against the steering wheel.

Ji-hyun sat beside him, checking her gun.

"We can't trust him," she said.

Jinwoo smirked. "We don't have to. We just need him to think he can trust us."

The man they were meeting was Seo Dae-hwan, one of Hyun-seok's former lieutenants.

Jinwoo had arranged this meeting through a back channel.

The second Dae-hwan walked out of the bar, Jinwoo stepped in his path.

Dae-hwan's bodyguards tensed—but Jinwoo only smiled.

"Relax," he said. "I just want to talk."

Dae-hwan hesitated.

He owed Hyun-seok nothing.

And he feared Jinwoo more.

A few minutes later, they sat at a private table inside the bar.

Jinwoo leaned forward. "You worked with Hyun-seok for years. You know how he operates."

Dae-hwan hesitated. "And if I do?"

Jinwoo smiled coldly. "Then you know he won't let you live much longer."

Silence.

Then—Dae-hwan exhaled.

"He has a warehouse," he said. "In Songdo. That's where he's storing the stolen files."

Jinwoo's gaze darkened.

"Then that's where we finish this."

3. The Warehouse Raid

Midnight.

Jinwoo and his men arrived in Songdo.

The warehouse stood at the edge of the docks, surrounded by armed guards.

Ji-hyun knelt beside Jinwoo. "We go in quiet?"

Jinwoo shook his head.

"We make noise."

Seconds later—an explosion rocked the warehouse.

The guards panicked.

Jinwoo moved like a ghost, slicing through the chaos.

Gunfire. Screams. Blood.

Within minutes, his men controlled the entire compound.

Jinwoo stepped inside.

Rows of metal crates lined the walls—filled with Hyun-seok's stolen files.

And at the center—a chair.

With a man tied to it.

Jinwoo's eyes narrowed.

Hyun-seok was gone.

And in his place—a body double.

A trap.

The doors slammed shut.

And gunfire erupted from the rafters.

---

4. Betrayal in the Dark

Ji-hyun shoved Jinwoo behind cover as bullets tore through the room.

"They knew we were coming!" she shouted.

Jinwoo gritted his teeth.

Hyun-seok had played him again.

But this time—Jinwoo wasn't leaving empty-handed.

He grabbed the nearest crate and forced it open.

Inside—stacks of documents, USB drives, photographs.

He shoved as many as he could into his bag.

Then—he signaled his men.

"Fall back!"

They fought their way out, bullets flying.

By the time they reached their vehicles, half the warehouse was on fire.

Ji-hyun slammed the door shut. "Was it worth it?"

Jinwoo glanced at the bag.

"I guess we'll find out."

---

5. The Truth Revealed

Hours later, in a secure hideout, Jinwoo spread the stolen files across the table.

Ji-hyun read through them, her face pale.

"Jinwoo… these aren't just about us."

Jinwoo scanned the documents.

Bank accounts. Government connections. Names he never expected to see.

Then—he saw it.

A photograph of his father.

Standing beside Hyun-seok.

Jinwoo's breath caught.

The truth was right there—his father had been working with Hyun-seok all along.

Betrayal burned through him.

Ji-hyun's voice was quiet.

"What are you going to do?"

Jinwoo clenched his jaw.

"I'm going to finish what I started."
