A Magic Apraisal and a Guild License

"Your soul will be next if you don't shut your mouth."

All living beings inside the building felt Utsumi's Mana. The bone-chilling sensation that everyone felt when they looked in the direction of Utsumi was fear. While Utsumi was still suppressing almost all of her Magical Presence, the pressure that everyone suddenly felt made it clear to everyone that she wasn't someone they wanted to mess with.

Shayde, who saw how the situation was progressing, quickly grabbed Utsumi's hand and rushed away from the entrance, and quickly headed to the reception counter. Utsumi suppressed the rest of her Mana but still held an intense glare toward the Red-haired Dragon-kin who had insulted Shayde earlier.

Finally after Utsumi and Shayde got to the reception counter, Shayde turned to talk to Utsumi.

"Why didn't you just ignore her, Utsumi? I'm used to dealing with people like her."

As Shayde spoke, Utsumi grew even more angry. She had friends who were bullied in her past life, but she never felt like she had the strength to do anything about it. The look on their faces looked exactly like the face Shayde was making right now.

"Why exactly should you have to deal with it? You're way stronger than her and you are the Princess of this nation!"

Shayde flinched as Utsumi raised her voice and spoke slightly under a shout, causing a slight sense of alert to the rest of the Hunters sitting at the surrounding tables. After Utsumi's earlier outburst, most didn't dare to directly look toward her and instead pretended not to hear their conversation.

"Utsumi, the situation in this country isn't exactly…"

Before Shayde could finish speaking, a tall, dark-skinned woman with short black hair in a bowl cut tapped Shayde on the shoulder. When Utsumi's gaze became fixed on her, she noticed how pretty she was and that her chest wasn't as modest as hers or Shayde's.

The woman quickly bowed before showing a lively smile to both Utsumi and Shayde. However, her eyes suddenly locked on Utsumi's as she silently analyzed her, causing Utsumi to feel a slight shiver throughout her spine.

Two jet-black horns also rested at the top of her head, indicating that she was also a Dragon-kin. To Utsumi, this wasn't a surprise since this was the nation created by Dragon-kin, but it didn't help that she was also the second most beautiful Dragon that Utsumi had seen so far.

'Shayde is definitely still cuter, but she is very pretty…'

"Greetings to Crown Princess Shayde le Dragovia and…"

She briefly greeted Shayde before her eyes fell back on Utsumi's once again. Her midnight black eyes left Utsumi entranced by them and the two engaged in a brief unofficial staring contest before Shayde suddenly interjected.

"Lavis, this is Utsunomiya Utsumi."

Lavis slightly chuckled before walking back behind the reception counter and smiled. "So Princess Shayde, are you here to register her in the Guild?"

Utsumi was slightly surprised that she had managed to figure it out so easily, but Shayde just sighed slightly before grabbing Utsumi's hand and leading her behind the counter as well.

"Lavis, can you do a private appraisal of her?"

Lavis looked at Shayde with a puzzled expression before a sly grin started curling her lips. She quickly walked behind a curtain, motioning for both Utsumi and Shayde to follow, which they did.

Once they were all behind the curtain, Lavis sat down at a small wooden table and Shayde and Utsumi both took the other two seats around the wooden table. It was then, after all of them were seated, Lavis finally spoke.

"So, who is she?"

Lavis gave a questioning glance to Shayde, who was speaking about Utsumi. Shayde was originally a bit hesitant to speak about details that had to do with Utsumi, but since she wanted to register into the guild, there was no way to avoid telling Lavis.

"Lavis, no matter what, you cannot speak about this to anyone else. At least for now, okay?"

Lavis, who was already intrigued, found herself even more so as she eagerly nodded her head, awaiting the secret information that Shayde was about to spill.

"Utsumi… is a human."

Lavis, who was prepared to hear anything, still found herself reeling in shock from Shayde's statement. She quickly looked Utsumi down from head to toe, analyzing the girl once again, which left Utsumi slightly uncomfortable.

"Lavis, don't be too weird."

Shayde quickly scolded Lavis before scooting closer to Utsumi to whisper to her quietly.

"I know she's acting strange, but Lavis is a good person, and she doesn't mean you any harm… probably."

Utsumi gave a puzzled glance to Shayde after she finished with the word 'probably'. 'What does she mean by, probably?'

"Hey, Utsmiya."

Utsumi rolled her eyes when she heard Lavis call her name. 'It looks like I'm gonna have to teach another person how to pronounce it…'

"I see, Utsunomiya Utsumi. It's quite the tongue twister!"

Lavis giddily exclaimed, to which Utsumi couldn't help but smile. 'She's pretty cute after all…'

However, Shayde quickly interrupted the two of them once again to question Lavis.

"Lavis, can you get the Magic measurement device already? I still need to take Utsumi to the Royal Palace before sunset."

Lavis sighed before suddenly disappearing into nothing. Leaving her seat empty before reappearing once again in her chair with a huff as she was holding a bright blue crystal orb.

"Was that teleportation?"

Utsumi asked with surprise plastered on her face. From what Shayde explained to her, teleportation was quite rare in the world, so she hadn't expected to see someone perform it immediately.

"Ah, are you able to do it too, Utsumi? You are a human, so I suppose that makes sense."

Lavis placed the crystal orb on the table with a bright grin as she glanced over at Utsumi.

"My name is Lavis, the one and only Space Dragon."

Utsumi exchanged an understanding look with Lavis before returning a beaming smile toward her. Utsumi then quickly turned to Shayde, who had an uncomfortable expression slightly giving off the feeling of dejection.

'Is Shayde sad because I was talking so much to Lavis? Ahh, how could I abandon my friend like that? I have to fix this!'

Utsumi quickly turned to Shayde and grabbed her hand that was sitting on the table with both of hers.

"Shayde, who would win in a fight between you two?"

Utsumi asked with the usual gleaming smile plastered over her face, nearly blinding Shayde and Lavis.

"Utsumi, you're pretty funny. Shayde would absolutely wipe the floor with me. She was the youngest Dragon-kin to ever win the national Hunter competition. She's probably at least the third strongest Dragon-kin in the entire nation."

Lavis quickly spoke up before even giving Shayde a chance to answer, leaving her with a blush reddening her face.

"Oho~ just because you're pretending to be a meek little lamb for the sake of your family, it doesn't mean that I forgot about how strong you are."

Lavis followed up with a bit of information that caught Utsumi's ear. 'For the sake of her family? Is that why she keeps letting these people speak about her so poorly?'

Lavis, who was watching Utsumi's expressions, shot a questioning gaze to Shayde.

"You didn't tell her yet, did you?"

Shayde looked away from Lavis's eyes and tried to ignore her questioning gaze, but Utsumi was quick to catch on.

"Lavis, what is Shayde hiding from me?"

Utsumi spoke up instantly, and Shayde quickly pointed her gaze back at Lavis with a look of disapproval.

"Utsumi, don't worry about this matter. I don't want to involve you in it."

Shayde quickly spoke up, but the action only made Utsumi even more curious.

"Shayde, what about this is such a problem that you can't tell me?"

Lavis, who saw that tension was building in the room, tried to interject as the third party.

"Shayde, I believe she does have the right to know. Plus, she is probably the only one that can help you deal with… him."

Shayde was still unwilling to answer Utsumi's question and decided to push the matter away for now.

"Utsumi, I'll tell you later. Can you just do your magic appraisal with Lavis, please?"

With Shayde being so desperate to keep the matter from Utsumi, she assumed it must be something personal that Shayde was very sensitive about. However, the fact that Lavis knew about it but she was unwilling to tell Utsumi made her feel slightly depressed.

"Well then, I'll be doing your magic appraisal, then Utsumi."

Lavis instructed Utsumi to place her hand on the crystal ball sitting in the middle of the table. Utsumi followed her instructions and as she did, the crystal ball started glowing.

"Utsumi, now inject some of your Mana into it."

Utsumi did as she was instructed and injected some Mana into the Crystal ball and it suddenly began to violently shake and the crystal ball gleamed with all the colors of the rainbow, giving Lavis an absolutely awestruck expression.

Finally, after a few seconds, the sensation finished, showing a single letter on the Crystal Ball. Shayde was nowhere near as surprised as Lavis was, but she didn't expect the crystal ball to take on the same color as Utsumi's Mana. That was something that had never been seen before; the crystal ball could only usually give off a yellow glow.

"So that is what the magic power of a human looks like!" Lavis excitedly fawned and rushed over to the other side of the table to grab Utsumi's hands with a pleading expression.

"Would you please become my exclusive sponsor for my magic gear?!"

Utsumi looked at Lavis with complete confusion about what she was speaking about, so Shayde briefly explained.

"Lavis is the Guild receptionist, but she also has another job. She is the leading researcher in Magical Technology. By the way, she created the same technology to allow these buildings to float."

Utsumi, after hearing Shayde's explanation, excitedly nodded her head to Lavis's proposal. 'She's not only pretty, but she's also a genius! How lucky am I to be acquainted with such a person!'

Shayde, who had grown tired of seeing the two of them so close to each other, got in between Utsumi and Lavis before grabbing Utsumi's hand.

"Can you please make her license now? Utsumi and I need to go. You can send all the prototypes you want to give to her through me."

Shayde huffed before sitting down once more with Utsumi. Lavis sighed before walking over to a device that was sitting on the shelf. Utsumi recognized it well from her past life.

"Is that a printer?!"

Utsumi excitedly asked Lavis as she placed her hand on the device.

"Ah, is that what you call it, where you're from? We just call it a License Generator here."

Utsumi suddenly shrank back into her seat, in which Shayde took the initiative to tease her.

"You brought that fancy name up just for you to find out it's only used to create Hunter Licenses."

Shayde giggled as she watched Utsumi's face redden with embarrassment.

"Why you!"
