Chapter 20: I, Lu Bu, Am a Righteous Man!

Chapter 20: I, Lu Bu, Am a Righteous Man!

In a small river, Yun Yun lay unconscious, her face pale and delicate brows furrowed. Her long hair, styled into a phoenix shaped bun, had come undone, and a few strands clung to her fair cheeks, evoking a sense of pity.

The rushing river water pressed her white dress tightly against her body, faintly revealing a hazy skin tone that exuded a subtle allure. Her jade like legs were long, slender, and perfectly proportioned, simply mesmerizing.

Unfortunately, she wore a blue and gold inner armor covering her upper body, protecting everything from her waist to her chest, leaving nothing else visible.

Across her chest, four claw marks were clearly visible, blood slowly seeping through the inner armor and staining the surrounding river water a faint red.

"If she's not treated, she really might die," Lu Bu muttered, clicking his tongue. Bending down, he slipped one arm under her legs and the other behind her neck, lifting her up. Instantly, a soft and smooth sensation spread from her jade like skin.

Lu Bu squinted slightly, acknowledging how pleasant the sensation was. He then flapped his black wings and flew back to his cave beneath the waterfall, carrying Yun Yun with him.

Hearing the commotion, Xiao Yan poked his head out from his own cave. After a brief glance, he quickly withdrew, muttering, "Not my problem. I need to focus on cultivating."

Inside his cave, Lu Bu gently placed Yun Yun onto a stone chair he had carved himself, leaning her against it.

Looking at her unconscious figure sprawled out before him, Lu Bu stroked his chin and contemplated for a moment before reaching out to loosen her clothing to treat her wounds.

"Doctors should have hearts like parents. I, Lu Bu, am a righteous man, not some lecher…" Lu Bu murmured to himself as he carefully examined her attire and prepared to undo her dress.

But just as his hand was about to touch her…

She woke up!

Her eyes snapped open, sharp and filled with a commanding aura. Then, almost immediately, the sharpness gave way to surprise and softened as her gaze fell on Lu Bu's face.

"Young lady, your injuries are severe. If not treated promptly, they could lead to complications…" Lu Bu said with a warm smile, his jade like face radiating a gentle and sincere charm.

"I was going to help you, but since you're awake, you can handle it yourself." Lu Bu placed a bottle of medicinal powder in front of her, then turned to leave without hesitation.

In reality, whether he stayed or left didn't matter. Yun Yun had taken a direct hit from the Purple Crystal Seal, which not only temporarily sealed her Dou Qi but also blocked her meridians.

With her blood and Qi unable to flow properly, her limbs felt weak and numb, making even the smallest movement difficult.

Yun Yun blinked, her red lips parting slightly. Though she didn't recognize this man, he seemed to have good intentions.

"Th thank you, sir," she called softly. Lu Bu waved a hand without looking back, signaling that it was nothing, as he continued walking toward the cave entrance.

But before he could leave, her voice, tinged with embarrassment and a hint of frustration, called out, "Please wait, sir…"

Her tone wasn't directed at Lu Bu but rather at her current predicament. While the Purple Crystal Seal wasn't difficult to break, it would take a few days to naturally dissipate. In the meantime, it left her in an incredibly awkward situation.

"What is it?" Lu Bu turned back, maintaining his warm, gentlemanly smile.

"I… I'm paralyzed and can't apply the medicine myself…" As she spoke, a faint blush crept onto Yun Yun's cheeks.

Lu Bu's brows furrowed slightly. Taking a deep breath, he replied, "Miss, while doctors should have hearts like parents, and as an alchemist, it is my duty to save lives… the location of your injury is rather… inappropriate. Surely, you understand the difference between men and women."

As he spoke, his hand, hidden behind his back, made a small gesture. In the adjacent cave, the sound of fighting abruptly ceased.

Yun Yun's eye twitched. Of course, she understood the awkwardness, but she was utterly helpless in her current state!

"How about this? I'll find someone else to help you apply the medicine," Lu Bu suggested.

"Someone else? A woman " Yun Yun began to nod, but before she could finish, Xiao Yan suddenly barged in from the adjacent cave.

"Brother Lu, why did the puppet suddenly stop moving?" Xiao Yan asked, his tone filled with confusion.

Yun Yun's beautiful eyes widened in shock as she glanced at Xiao Yan's face. Surely he wasn't suggesting this person would apply the medicine?!

"Xiao Yan, help her apply the medicine," Lu Bu said casually.

"No need! You can do it yourself, sir!" Yun Yun immediately interjected, her tone surprisingly smooth and decisive, with no trace of hesitation.

Xiao Yan glanced at Yun Yun, then at Lu Bu, his face darkening as he turned and stormed out of the cave.

Lu Bu rubbed his nose, murmuring to himself, "I think I might be turning bad…"

"Alright." Seeing Yun Yun's hopeful expression, Lu Bu nodded and approached her.

As he drew closer, Yun Yun's blush deepened. Her injury was right on the front of her chest…

Before she could dwell on the thought, Lu Bu's presence loomed over her, and his masculine scent filled the air. Yun Yun's long eyelashes fluttered as she closed her eyes, her thoughts spinning.

Then, she felt the fabric of her chest being shifted slightly…

"Mm…"

Meanwhile, in the adjacent cave, Xiao Yan swung his heavy ruler with all his might, sparring with the puppet. Though he knew Lu Bu had tampered with the puppet, he chose to let it go.

"It's just a woman," Xiao Yan muttered to himself. "I have Xun Er. She's leagues ahead of these mundane women. She's all I need."

Back in Lu Bu's cave, he tidied up the medicine bottles with satisfaction before stepping outside. He couldn't help but admit… that elder sister was quite something!

Cough…

Lu Bu glanced at his hands and made a decision: no washing his hands for the next few days!

Inside the cave, Yun Yun had regained some mobility after a brief rest. She grabbed the clothes covering her and began putting them on, but as she did, Lu Bu's scent clung to the fabric, causing her cheeks to flush uncontrollably.

"Did he… give me unworn clothes? Or… did he give me something unwashed?" Yun Yun bit her lip, her voice trembling with embarrassment.

Despite her suspicions, she quickly donned her inner armor and outer robe. After all, it wasn't just her and Lu Bu here there was someone else around.

"Sigh, thirty years of solitary cultivation, and I've ended up…" Yun Yun sighed deeply.

Before long, she was fully dressed. When Lu Bu re entered the cave, he froze momentarily.

Yun Yun, already a stunning beauty with a noble and elegant aura, now wore men's clothing, exuding a heroic and commanding presence.

Pulling out some meat from his storage ring, Lu Bu started a fire to cook. While the enclosed cave wasn't ideal for open flames due to the risk of carbon monoxide, this was a fantasy world. If regular poison couldn't harm them, what was carbon monoxide going to do?

As he busied himself, Lu Bu casually asked, "How should I address you?"

During the earlier treatment, Lu Bu had revealed his name, but Yun Yun had kept her eyes shut tightly, too embarrassed to respond.

"I… I'm Yun Zhi," Yun Yun said after a slight hesitation, giving a false name.

"Oh, Sister Yun Zhi."

Lu Bu handed her a piece of roasted meat. Deciding to play the fool, he chose not to expose her lie. There was no benefit in doing so and it might even cause unnecessary tension.

Yun Yun's cheeks flushed faintly, but she accepted the familiar address. Raising her delicate hand, she took the roasted meat and began eating she was starving.

"How's your injury, Sister Yun Zhi?" Lu Bu asked, his gaze briefly flicking to her chest.

"Wh where are you looking?!" Yun Yun snapped, her voice tinged with anger.

"Miss, do you think I'm some sort of lecher?" Lu Bu straightened his posture, his expression righteous and solemn.

"I'm an alchemist! Doctors should have hearts like parents. Is it not my duty to care for the injured?"

"Oh… oh…" Yun Yun stammered, her cheeks reddening. Had she misjudged him?

On reflection, during the treatment, Lu Bu had maintained a serious demeanor, not even glancing at her improperly.

Lu Bu silently exhaled in relief. Yun Yun's shaken state had given him an opening, but under normal circumstances, her reserved and composed nature would have left him with no chance.

"The external wounds are fine, but the seal will take a few days to dissipate," Yun Yun said, frowning slightly. She hadn't expected the Purple Crystal Winged Lion King to have sealing abilities it had completely caught her off guard.

"Alright," Lu Bu said, nodding. "For now, it's best to avoid going outside. The magical beasts in the area have keen noses and could cause unnecessary trouble."

"Understood…" Yun Yun murmured, biting into the roasted meat. A faint blush crept across her delicate face. So, they'd be staying together here for the time being?
