Chapter 24: The Way Into Jia Nan Academy

Chapter 24: The Way Into Jia Nan Academy

"Roar !"

Before Lu Bu had gone far, a half meter tall cub appeared in front of him. Its limbs were crouched low, its body pressed to the ground, ready to pounce. A deep, menacing growl emanated from its throat.

Lu Bu glanced at the cub and immediately felt speechless. It had a mane it was a male lion.

Instantly, Lu Bu's thoughts about the Violet Crystal Winged Lion King vanished. He didn't want to play the role of a stepdad. Yun Yun was clearly the better choice.

"Little lion, come here, come here!" Lu Bu beckoned with his hand, as though teasing a dog back in his childhood home.

"Roar!"

The little lion roared in fury. This two legged creature not only intruded into its territory but dared to mock it. Today, it would teach him a lesson!

The cub leaped forward, pouncing at Lu Bu.

Bang!

"Yelp!"

One punch sent the cub skidding backward. Its anger flared even more, baring its fangs as it pounced again.

Bang!

"Yelp yelp!"

Bang!

"Yelp yelp yelp!"

Bang!

"Whimper…"

Bang!

"Jie jie jie…"

The little lion now had a large bump on its head. Its tongue lolled out as it pitifully lay flat on the ground. Mama, this two legged beast is terrifying!

Satisfied, Lu Bu moved past it and spread his soul power. It wasn't long before he found the Violet Spirit Crystal hidden in a secret compartment.

"Gotcha!" Lu Bu chuckled and quickly returned to the Companion Violet Crystal Source. He struck the top of the crystal sphere hard, and with a crack, the crystal began to flow.

At the same time, his soul power surged out, precisely gathering every drop of the liquid and carefully storing it in jade bottles.

Unlike Xiao Yan's careless method, Lu Bu meticulously collected all the Violet Crystal Source liquid. By the end, he had filled seven jade bottles.

"Mission accomplished," Lu Bu muttered, heading toward the cave exit.

However, he suddenly paused, his expression turning mischievous. An idea sprang to mind, and a wicked grin spread across his face. Pulling out a bottle of Violet Crystal Source, he took a small sip. His face instantly turned red, and heat surged through his body. Without hesitation, he bolted for the exit.

Outside, in the sky, the Violet Crystal Winged Lion King was still battling Yun Yun when its expression abruptly changed. As the Companion Violet Crystal Source was connected to both its cub and itself, it sensed the theft immediately.

"Cunning human!" The lion king roared in fury, spewing flames at Yun Yun before flapping its wings and racing back toward its cave.

"Damn it!" Yun Yun's face paled in alarm. Knowing something must have happened to Lu Bu, she pushed herself to the limit, her wind attribute Dou Qi wings propelling her faster as she flew toward the cave.

Though Yun Yun was fast, the Violet Crystal Winged Lion King's powerful body gave it an edge. With its head start, it reached the cave just moments before Yun Yun.

But as it approached, a powerful aura erupted from within. The lion king's heart clenched. Could it be… that human? The one who had sent it flying with a single punch?!

It hesitated, stopping briefly in its tracks. At that moment, a figure shot out of the cave and leaped straight into Yun Yun's arms.

"Lu Bu… you?!" Yun Yun's beautiful face turned pale. Lu Bu's entire body was flushed red, his temperature alarmingly high. As she held him, she could feel the violent energy coursing chaotically through him.

"Damn it…" Yun Yun muttered, her Dou Qi wings flaring as she soared into the sky with Lu Bu in her arms, disappearing into the dense forest below like a shooting star.

The Violet Crystal Winged Lion King watched them leave but dared not pursue. If those two humans joined forces, her life would be in danger.

At the base of a cliff, Yun Yun's face was filled with worry as she pressed her hands against Lu Bu's back, channeling her Dou Qi into him.

"What's going on with this little troublemaker? How did the Violet Crystal Winged Lion King's violet flames end up in his body?" Yun Yun's face was tense. Her wind attribute Dou Qi surged, quickly expelling the violet energy rampaging through Lu Bu's meridians.

Lu Bu, with his eyes tightly shut and skin red as a cooked lobster, gradually returned to normal under Yun Yun's intervention. His breathing steadied, his temperature dropped, and his complexion normalized. Apart from remaining unconscious, he seemed fine.

Carefully taking the Violet Spirit Crystal from Lu Bu's hand, Yun Yun sighed and gently laid him down. Leaning over, she placed a light kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you, my little troublemaker," she whispered softly.

Yun Yun scanned their surroundings, ensuring there were no threats nearby. A faint blush crept onto her face as she hesitated. Her slender, jade like fingers trembled as she began untying her clothing, revealing a flawless, alabaster figure.

Her cheeks flushed deeper as she reached behind her, intending to remove her blue and gold inner armor. She wanted to gift it to Lu Bu as a token of gratitude.

But then… Yun Yun's brows furrowed. It felt as though someone was watching her.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively looked down only to meet Lu Bu's wide open eyes.

Lu Bu: (•ω•)

Why stop? Continue.

Yun Yun's face turned deathly pale before flushing crimson. Her lips trembled as anger flared in her eyes. Steam practically rose from her head as her fury erupted.

"You scoundrel! Prepare to die!"

Her shout echoed through the magical beast mountain range, her Dou Huang aura forcing all the beasts to tremble in fear.

"Ahhh!" Lu Bu screamed, immediately summoning his Purple Cloud Wings to flee. A streak of sword energy grazed his scalp, leveling a swath of forest.

"You lecher! Where do you think you're going?!"

Yun Yun's wings flapped, and she instantly appeared behind Lu Bu, thrusting her sword toward his backside targeting the fleshy area to ensure it only hurt but caused no lasting harm.

But just as she attacked, Lu Bu twisted his body, spinning midair to collide into Yun Yun's arms, holding her tightly.

"Jie jie jie…"

Yun Yun's hand trembled, her sword lowering slowly. In the end, she sighed and leaned her head against Lu Bu's shoulder. "You're such a little troublemaker…"

"What was it you wanted to say earlier, Sister Yun Yun?" Lu Bu asked softly, nuzzling her cheek.

"Nothing… just some parting words," Yun Yun murmured dejectedly.

"Will we meet again?" Lu Bu asked, his voice tinged with reluctance as he embraced her.

"…"

Silence answered him. Yun Yun seemed unsure of how to define their relationship, perhaps thinking that parting was the best choice for both of them.

"Can you do me a favor? It's important," Lu Bu said, his tone suddenly serious.

Yun Yun looked up at him, startled by his shift in demeanor. "If it's within my power, I'll help you."

"I want to go to Jia Nan Academy. Do you have a way to make that happen?" Lu Bu asked solemnly. "It's very important to me."

"Jia Nan Academy?" Yun Yun frowned before nodding. "It's possible. I can write you a recommendation letter. As my disciple, you'd be accepted as a special recruit."

A Dou Huang's recommendation carried significant weight. Whether or not Lu Bu could meet the academy's standards would depend on him.

Hearing this, Lu Bu's face lit up. As expected, official connections were always reliable.

"But… why not join Yun Lan Sect?" Yun Yun asked, her expression slightly displeased. She had extended an invitation before.

Lu Bu didn't answer, instead smiling meaningfully at her.

Yun Yun froze, confused by his gaze, before realization struck her. Her body stiffened, and her face turned beet red.

"Damn it… he figured me out!"

"Jie jie jie… looks like I'll have more chances to see you, Sister Yun Yun," Lu Bu said with a grin, holding her slender waist.

"You little troublemaker…" Yun Yun gritted her teeth in frustration but could only sigh in resignation.

After a brief hug, Yun Yun finally released him. "Little troublemaker, I have to go."

"Goodbye, Sister Yun Yun," Lu Bu said, releasing her. "I'll visit Yun Lan Sect someday. And don't forget about Jia Nan Academy."

"Let me know before you come," Yun Yun said, tossing him a jade slip for communication.

With that, her figure turned into a streak of light, vanishing into the horizon.

Lu Bu stored the jade slip in his spatial ring and flew back toward the waterfall cave.

A man's ambition should be as boundless as the great rivers flowing into the sea. How can he linger in the comforts of a gentle embrace?
