Brie’s POV
How did I know that this was going to be a bad idea? The doctor said to rest, my parents said to rest, and yet here I am standing outside the school gates with Vic on my arm encouraging me to go. I should be home and in bed instead of dreading the first period. Logan did nothing to soothe my mind regarding the issue with Noelle, but at least he was done torturing me for this school year. What’s the phrase: better late than never?
“Come on, it’s too late to turn back now. Plus, do you really want to fall behind during senior year?” Vic asked.
There it was; I was hooked, and she was reeling me in. Senior year was the year that we promised would be better. Neither of us had received any acceptance letters yet, which meant they were still deliberating our status for the new year. We had a real chan,ce to escape this town and I’d be damned if it dragged me under and kept me sealed here like a precious shelf ornament.
