Chapter 38: White Flag

Brie’s POV

They were coddling me, it was suffocating. My foot wasn’t even that bad. Well, according to the doctor that Lynx insisted come over it could have been a far worse injury. All I did was sprain my ankle just a little, but he recommended bed rest so that it wouldn’t develop into something worse.

I guess I should be grateful that he cares, and I am. I just wish everyone would stop making a big deal out of it. I hated being fussed over. Blame it on the PTSD from the attack, but since that day, I hated being the center of anyone’s attention. That’s probably what got me attacked in the first place, I was the shiny new toy at Riverback Heights.

“I have to head to the hospital for a few hours. Are you going to be all right here by yourself?” Lynx asked.
