Saved by a... Spell?

How long has it been? How long has the rogue Alpha been chasing Felix?

It probably… wasn't all that long. Ten minutes maybe? Fifteen at most.

Such a short period of time. And yet, enough for Felix to gasp heavily, struggling to breathe. About to spit his lungs out. For his legs to turn weak, as if they were made out of cotton. His vision blurred, and his head spun…

It was frustrating, really. Less than three months ago, Felix ran through the night, escaping from the pack. And now? He was on the verge of fainting just from running for a little while…

And the rogue chasing him STILL didn't have enough. He was THAT desperate to get a piece of Felix, huh?

Damn it all. He really should have taken Eden's words to hearth… Not by getting marked, of course! But rather, by preparing better for such an… unwelcome pursuit. By, for example, carrying a pocket knife around. If he had stabbed the Alpha in the thigh, he wouldn't have been able to chase after Felix for so long!

It was pointless to think about it now though. Later, yes, to prepare for future incidents… But at the moment, he had a more pressing issue at hand.

"Hah, hah…" he gasped, blinking hard to get his eyes to focus as he tried to scan the area, looking for something, a trash bin or anything, that he could knock over… It was only thanks to setting such 'traps' that he had lasted so far. Thank Goddess the Alpha was only one shot away from getting wasted, which caused for him to fall for it and trip on the obstacles left by Felix, and land face flat on the ground… Too bad it wasn't enough to stop him.

What a stubborn jerk. If it wasn't for the fact that he was trying to assault a poor, innocent Omega (because Felix really was absolutely innocent in this case! So he had no shame in thinking of himself that way), Felix would be willing to commend him for his persistence despite the 'hardships'.

Alas, too bad such an amazing determination was wasted on a wrongful pursuit.

Either way, Felix had no luck with this turn, it seemed. The only potential obstacle he could use was a trash bin twenty or so feet away from him, but it was mounted to the ground. Felix could break it with a kick… But in his current state, he could very well end up falling together with it.

There was also a person on the other side of the street… But Felix barely spared them a passing glance. He had already passed a few people on the way, and no one cared to even try to help. So now Felix didn't even have a shred of hope left in them. He just ran forward, focusing all of his desperate efforts on trying to escape.

This area though… Felix wasn't too familiar with this part of town yet, but he had a feeling he had been here before…

Ah.

Understanding dawned on him as he saw the tall sign rising up ahead.

Running around blindly, he accidentally stumbled upon the one and only Silverfall's hotel.

Well, perhaps not 'accidentally', considering his wolf's whining. It was likely Felix's wolf that influenced him, steering him this way. Because the hotel was where Kade was staying. So it was the 'safe' place.

Except, not now. Even as Felix got closer, he couldn't sense even a trace of the man. He wasn't back yet.

…But, wasn't that still an opportunity? Perhaps he could hide inside. He'd have to pay for it, of course… Which made his heart ache… But at least he'd be safe there. If the rogue tried to follow him in and made a racket, they might call the police on him. And while the police wouldn't lift a finger to help him, a poor outlaw with nothing, not even an ID to show… It might be different with business owners. They were people with money. Important, as far as Silverfall was concerned.

And the other guard was likely there as well. Although Felix would rather not rely on him, as it'd be like relying on Kade.

Hotel it was, then. Although Felix wasn't sure it would work, but it was at least worth a shot. All he had to do was to run around two or three blocks to get to the main entrance and-

"Gah!" All of a sudden, something hit him on the back of his head. Nothing particularly heavy, but as he was already dizzy, that was enough to make him lose his balance. As he stumbled forward, pushed by the momentum from his run, his ankle twisted… And gave in under his weight. He tried to scramble back to his feet as soon as he hit the ground…

But it was too late. Just as he managed to barely lift his upper body off the ground, he was yanked by the collar, coming face to face with his pursuer.

"Finally… Got… You…" the Alpha gasped, his voice raspy like sand paper. His eyes wandered around, unfocused, and he was red in the face from chasing madly after Felix in the midst of the winter, but his grip on the Omega was hard like steel, or at least that's how it felt.

"You little shit… You better be worth it… After all the trouble… You caused me…" he muttered, pushing his face even closer to Felix's.

…He was done for. There was no way for Felix to escape. Still, even as he was pinned down, the Alpha's disgusting mug filling his whole view, he remained defiant. "I am… most definitely… not worth it," he muttered back, sounding way weaker than he would like. But there was no helping it, as he was breathless, his consciousness barely holding on by a thread. "You would have… been better off… just jerking off… by yourself."

"Hahah, funny one… aren't you?" the Alpha growled, releasing his pheromones. "Well then… I'll have to fuck you… until I'm satisfied… Even if… I have to fuck you… to death."

Damn it. Felix really… should have developed a habit of carrying around a knife.

He bit on his lip, trying to resist the Alpha's pheromones that were quickly taking control over his body. It was so unfair… Against his own will, his muscles all relaxed, as dark purple fog clouded over his vision…

…Dark purple fog?

Felix blinked, his senses slowly recovering, bit by bit, his mind getting clearer. There really… was weird, dark purple fog, or maybe smoke, swirling in the air around them, carrying soft notes of jasmine. It wasn't just his imagination, because the Alpha also reacted to it, covering up his nose, as he swung his arms around, trying to chase away the smoke.

"Fuck! The hell! Is! …" the rest of the rogue's mumbling couldn't be understood, just some unintelligible gibberish. The smoke seemed to affect the two of them in a different way, because while Felix was relaxed, his strength partially restored, the Alpha was agitated instead, his breathing becoming more and more shallow and uneven.

Was is… some sort of spell? Did the witch come to Felix's aid?

While it was all unclear, Felix wasn't about to waste such a chance. He smashed his knee into the Alpha's crotch, earning himself a loud, pained shriek, and quickly jumped onto his feet. Then, he gave the man one more kick, just for good measure… And darted back home at full speed, taking advantage of the effects of the spell while they still lasted. He managed to somehow make his way back, stumbling onto the porch…

Only to collapse right on his own doorstep.
