1. The Little Things That Hurt
For the next few days, things were good. Almost too good.
Hana and Ji-hoon spent every moment they could together, stealing kisses between classes, whispering secrets late into the night.
But something felt… off.
Ji-hoon was more tense than usual.
More protective.
More on edge.
And Hana knew why.
Kyung-soo.
Even though he hadn't approached her again, Ji-hoon had been watching. Waiting. Like he expected something to happen.
And it was slowly driving a wedge between them.

2. Cracks in the Surface
It started with small things.
Ji-hoon would check her phone when he thought she wasn't looking.
Hana would catch him watching Kyung-soo across the cafeteria, fists clenched.
And then—
One night, as they sat on the rooftop of Ji-hoon's apartment, looking out at the city lights, Hana finally spoke up.
"You don't trust me."
Ji-hoon tensed beside her. "That's not true."
Hana turned to face him. "Then why do you act like Kyung-soo is a threat?"
Ji-hoon exhaled sharply, rubbing his face. "Because I know guys like him. They don't just leave."
Hana frowned. "He already did."
Ji-hoon shook his head. "He came back once. What's stopping him from coming back again?"
Hana's chest tightened. "Ji-hoon… I chose you."
Ji-hoon looked at her then, his expression unreadable. "I know."
"Then trust me."
Silence.
Then—
"I trust you."
But not him.
And that was the problem.

3. The Breaking Point
It all came crashing down at a party.
Hana didn't even want to go, but So-yeon had begged her, and Ji-hoon had reluctantly agreed to come along.
Everything was fine.
Until Kyung-soo showed up.
Hana was standing by the drinks when he approached, hands raised in surrender.
"I'm not here to cause trouble," Kyung-soo said. "I just wanted to talk."
Hana sighed. "Kyung-soo—"
But before she could say anything else, an arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her back.
Ji-hoon.
His jaw was tight, his eyes dark with fury. "I warned you."
Kyung-soo smirked. "Relax, man. I'm not stealing her."
Ji-hoon didn't care.
He swung.
A solid punch to Kyung-soo's jaw.
People gasped. Someone screamed.
Hana's heart stopped.
"Ji-hoon!" she shouted, grabbing his arm before he could hit Kyung-soo again.
Kyung-soo wiped his mouth, chuckling. "So this is what she fell for? A jealous little boy?"
Ji-hoon lunged—
But this time, Hana stepped between them.
"Enough!"
Ji-hoon froze.
Hana turned to Kyung-soo. "Go. Now."
Kyung-soo hesitated, then shrugged. "Whatever. He's your problem now."
He walked away, leaving silence in his wake.
Hana turned back to Ji-hoon, her heart pounding.
"What the hell was that?" she demanded.
Ji-hoon ran a hand through his hair. "I told you I don't trust him."
"You don't trust me either," Hana shot back.
Ji-hoon flinched.
Hana's chest ached. "I love you, Ji-hoon. But I won't be in a relationship where I have to prove that every day."
Ji-hoon's throat bobbed. "Hana—"
She stepped back.
"I need space."
Ji-hoon's eyes darkened. "What are you saying?"
Hana took a shaky breath.
"I think we should take a break."
Silence.
And then—
Ji-hoon nodded.
"Fine."
He turned—
And walked away.
And this time—
Hana let him go.
