Chapter 123: The Flashy Vampire

Murong Mingyue had explained that because Richard was a vampire with royal lineage, the power of the cross couldn't truly harm him. If Richard could endure the backlash of the holy light and overcome his fear, he would be able to embrace Anran without issue.

Thus, last night, Richard resolved to follow this method. After all, one gets used to pain over time. Moreover, he preferred that no one else knew about this. Once he adapted, he would be the only vampire in Rosewood Town who could touch Anran. The thought delighted him.

Seeing Richard's refreshed demeanor, Anran couldn't help but smile. Though Richard didn't say much, she knew he was staying by her side to protect her from danger.

As they walked and chatted, they soon arrived at the gates of St. Titus Academy.

The traces of the recent bloodshed had been completely erased, and the demolition of the old school building continued. Last night, Lester had used his abilities to destroy the laboratory, simultaneously thwarting the ambitions of foreign agents who sought to obtain the experimental data. Rumors suggested that the undercover agents stationed in the area had already begun to withdraw.

At the school gates, a large group of girls in blue uniforms had gathered, their faces brimming with excitement and anticipation.

Seeing this, Richard let out a cold snort. As they noticed Richard and Anran approaching, the girls quickly parted to make way, their heads bowed, not daring to look up.

Richard and Anran walked through the crowd, the girls' behavior puzzling Anran.

As they strolled down the tree-lined path, Anran couldn't help but ask, "Richard, what's going on with them?"

"They're waiting. Someone's returning," Richard replied.

The way Richard spoke made it sound like he was familiar with this person, Anran thought.

Understanding her curiosity, Richard added, "Dylan Morris, Elma's half-brother. A flashy guy."

"Elma's brother…"

Anran certainly remembered the capricious vampire from Qingyun Peak, though she had no fond memories of Elma.

"Dylan's a prince, but compared to his sister, he's far more tolerable," Richard said. "His return is timely. The Halloween ball wouldn't be complete without him."

From Richard's description, Anran struggled to picture what kind of vampire Dylan Morris was.

"Why does the ball need him?" Anran asked, her curiosity growing.

"Because he's the head of the Student Council's publicity department, the captain of the basketball and soccer teams, and the leader of the dance crew—basically, any activity that lets him show off, he's involved," Richard explained. "Oh, and this year, he even formed a rock band. Last month, he went to the U.S. to audition for a TV show."

Anran was speechless. She was beginning to get an idea of who Dylan Morris was. That guy wasn't just a show-off—he was on another level. She couldn't imagine how someone like Dylan could be related to Richard.

At that moment, the crowd outside the school gates erupted into frantic movement, and piercing screams filled the air.

"Ah—Prince Dylan!"

"Prince Dylan, welcome back!"

The roar of an engine followed, and Anran couldn't help but turn to look. A bright yellow Ferrari pulled up at the school gates. Then, a blonde young man wearing sunglasses stepped out from the driver's seat…
