Chapter 122: Morning Routine, Embracing the Pain

Morning in Rosewood Town.

"Grandpa, I'm off to school!"

From an old house on a quiet street came the cheerful voice of a young girl.

"Take care on your way, my dear. Be back soon!"

As usual, Anran bid her grandfather farewell and opened the front door. But what she saw outside left her utterly surprised.

Standing outside was a handsome young man, smiling at her. He was dressed in a deep brown Scottish plaid shirt and beige trousers, a look that exuded British elegance. Most strikingly, his eyes were a deep, dreamlike royal purple.

"Richard, what are you doing here?" Anran asked, wondering if she was still dreaming.

Richard had anticipated her reaction, but her expression still amused him. The corner of his lips curled into a faint smile. "Don't forget, we're in a relationship. Is it so strange for me to be here?"

Anran immediately felt embarrassed, her ears turning a faint shade of red.

After a moment, she asked, "So… did you come here just to wait for me? Is there something you need?"

His smile deepened. "I'm here to walk you to school."

Anran's eyes widened like saucers. She couldn't have heard that right. This guy, who never attended classes, was saying he wanted to accompany her to school?

"Let's go. If we dawdle any longer, you'll be late," Richard said.

To anyone who didn't know him, he might have seemed like a studious individual.

Anran was speechless. She walked silently beside him, occasionally stealing glances at his face. He looked genuinely pleased, as if this was the most normal thing in the world.

She couldn't help but ask, "Richard, what did you and Mr. Murong talk about last night?"

After Murong Mingyue left, Richard had discovered that the spell Murong had placed on the cross was still intact. Determined, Richard had chased after him. However, he returned shortly after, alone and silent, his eyes filled with resolve.

"Oh, he said no one has ever asked him to undo a spell he's cast, so he's forgotten how to remove it," Richard replied casually.

In truth, when he'd heard those words yesterday, he'd been livid.

"Huh?" Anran was taken aback. "So, there's no way to solve it?"

Richard looked at her. "Later, Murong told me two solutions. One is to find a curse-breaker whose power matches his, and they can remove the spell from the cross. The other is for my abilities to surpass his, and then I won't have to fear it."

Clearly, neither solution was feasible at the moment.

"Then… what should we do? Should I just take the cross off?" Anran suggested.

Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, her face flushed red. It wasn't because she wanted to get closer to him or anything like that.

"No, the vampire from the Hahn family is still out there. You should keep wearing the cross," Richard insisted.

Anran nodded. If she didn't wear it, she was afraid she might lose it. After all, it was an important item.

Thinking about last night's events still sent shivers down his spine. The Hahn family vampire was exceptionally skilled at hiding, and combined with the unique magnetic fields of Rosewood Town, it would take some time to locate him.

As they walked, Richard tried to place his hand on Anran's shoulder. Just as he was about to touch her, his hand was repelled, a sharp pain shooting through his palm. But Richard maintained his composed expression, and Anran didn't notice his attempt.

In truth, Murong had also told him a third method…
