Chapter 27: Battle

Chapter 27: Battle

"Alright then, we should take care of this quietly and quickly." I commanded as I looked over the group, trying to be as silent as possible.

Didn't want to go about alerting the enemy.

"Sasuke, use your Sharingan as a Birds Eye view. Anyone who's running away, steer them back towards us or eliminate them." I commanded.

He didn't seem happy with what I had just said, wanting to be in the action. But for now at least, he seemed ready to follow my orders.

I was able to dictate my plan in a way where Yuki and Ayumi would be with me in the center of combat.

I needed it this way, since the players gained the most from Kills. We got EXP, which NPCs did not have the privilege of receiving.

I was able to gaslight Sakura into letting her think her role was actually important, before looking down towards our enemy Genin.

Well, this should be fairly simple.

"Remember guys, don't waste too much of your Chakra. This is a long term war, if we use too much energy today, we might not be ready for an ambush later on." I told everyone, as I myself got ready for combat.

The rush of power surged through my body, muscles tightening, blood pumping like a roaring river through my veins. My skin burned, but in a way that felt alive—the Third Gate of Life was open.

Time for Taijutsu.

Sasuke vanished into the trees, his Sharingan glinting in the moonlight as he scouted the battlefield. The rest of the team tensed, waiting for my signal.

I didn't waste time.

With a single flex of my legs, I launched off the tree branch, shattering the bark beneath my feet. The wind howled as I tore through the air, my speed breaking past what a normal Genin—or even most Chunin—could react to.

The first enemy never even saw me coming.

A sickening CRACK echoed through the night as my fist buried itself into his ribs, sending him flying through three trees before he collapsed like a broken puppet. His squad barely had time to register what had happened before I was on them.

My foot slammed into the ground as I pivoted, twisting into a brutal roundhouse kick that sent another enemy Genin soaring through the air. His body spun uncontrollably before slamming into a boulder, his head bouncing off like a ragdoll. Unconscious. Maybe dead. Didn't matter.

Shouts of panic erupted through the enemy camp.

But panic wasn't enough to save them.

A kunai came flying at me from the right, aimed at my exposed neck.

'Too slow.' I couldn't help but think.

I twisted my body mid-air, dodging by mere inches before grabbing the attacker's arm in a vice grip.

"Nice try." I smirked a little.

With a single jerk, I dislocated his shoulder—his scream barely had time to leave his throat before my knee drove into his chest, folding him in half. He coughed blood before slumping to the ground.

"Shikomu, above you!" Ayumi's voice rang out.

I didn't even turn my head.

My instincts moved first.

I planted my foot into the ground and leapt backwards, avoiding a diving enemy armed with a short sword. He crashed into the dirt where I had just been, barely managing to twist back into a stance.

His mistake.

I blurred forward before he could react, twisting at the last second to drive my elbow into his gut—a shockwave burst through his body as he collapsed, wheezing, his eyes rolling back.

Another down.

But I wasn't done.

In the chaos, Yuki had blocked off any escape routes while Ayumi whipped around water ropes, a Jutsu Naido sensei had taught her as well, snapping ankles and throwing enemies into the dirt.

Sasuke, high above, was steering runners back into our killing zone, forcing them into a death trap.

This was our battlefield.

The enemy had no chance.

But then—the drawback hit me.

A small burn flared in my muscles. The Third Gate.

At my current physique, staying in it for short periods of time was probably the best to not exhaust myself.

If I didn't switch strategies, I'd wear myself out before we even reached the real battles.

I exhaled sharply and forced my muscles to relax.

Third Gate of Life—CLOSED.

The overwhelming strength drained from my body, replaced by a familiar sensation of control. My chakra surged back into focus.

Now it was time to clean up.

I flashed through hand signs, feeling my body adjust back to normal speed.

Water Release: Drilling Hydra Strike

A spiraling torrent of water burst from my palms, as a massive Hydra formed in the atmosphere, destroying a group of Genins near me. The rest of my squad mopped up the stragglers with ruthless efficiency.

And just like that, it was over.

Bodies lay scattered across the battlefield, most unconscious, some barely breathing.

Only one remained. The prisoner.

He trembled as I stepped toward him, his kunai shaking in his grip. His eyes darted around, searching for an escape.

"There's nowhere to run." I told him simply. "Drop the weapon."

He hesitated.

Then Sasuke appeared behind him, kunai pressed lightly against his throat.

The enemy Genin dropped his weapon immediately.

Well, that was a fairly easy 50 EXP.

"I need you to take Yuki, Sasuke and Geppo here and ambush a Chunin squad." Kakashi sensei told me as he passed me a scroll.

It hadn't even been 10 minutes since we were back and we were being sent to attack another squad.

"Alright Commander Kakashi." I said as I addressed him with his official title.

He nodded at me and dismissed us as I saw this new Geppo person. He was also a player, one from the many other Jonin squads that were accepted like mine.

I don't know how he managed to get expected into a Jonin squad, but it seemed like his Jonin was an ordinary one, not an Elite.

Maybe it was formed specially due to it being wartime? I was unsure.

He was extremely overweight and looked like the typical fat merchants in some manhwa.

"Nice to meet you Sasuke, my name is Geppo an-"

"I don't care. Call me when we are leaving." Sasuke said as he moved to his designated tent.

"Let's leave in 5 minutes." I told him to which he nodded and went to do whatever he wanted.

"Tch what a stuck up, he is lucky he is an important NPC." Geppo said as he turned towards us, "How did you get so close to him anyways?"

"Does it look like we are close?" Yuki questioned.

"Well whatever man, I will be right back." He said as he leaned against a tree and logged out for a minute (time difference).

"This guy is going to be a burden." I thought outloud to which Yuki nodded.

Soon I called Sasuke back and we moved, with Geppo taking the front position.

However when we did end up at our location, no one was there.

Geppo, not caring for protocol, ran towards the center of the place we were supposed to be ambushing the enemy NInja.

"Where are they?" Geppo asked in a loud voice as he shouted inside of the forest.

"THIS IDIOT!" Sasuke said as he jumped forward to push Geppo down from ten Kunai going towards him.

It seemed obvious that the Shinobi had been tipped off before the fight had even begun.

"Found them!" One of the Ninja shouted at the top of his lungs as he called for his teammates.

However what was weird to me was that trained ninja wouldn't do that, they usually had their own signals.

Which means that this was probably a group of players.

As I was thinking that, Yuki and I joined Sasuke while he was trying to protect Geppo from dying.

However the Kunai soon stopped and tens of Shinobi popped up in front of us.

"That looks like Sasuke from the forums." One of the men said out loud.

Sasuke seemed shocked that he was recognised so quickly and to be honest so was I.

Were there people posting specific descriptions of Shinobi from the leaf?

As our backs faced each other all of us looked towards the massive crowd of Shinobi, most of which had Headbands from the Hidden Cloud, some others having them from their vassal villages.

One of the Shinobi walked up to us, confident in being able to do anything against us.

She had light blue colored hair which dropped to her back and had it tied in a high ponytail.

"I'm assuming you're a player?" She asked right in front of Sasuke, and the second she did I turned my head towards him.

But he didn't seem to be able to process her words.

"Relax, they can't understand whenever we use words out of the system, they will just think we are negotiating right now." She told me.

Well I was always too afraid to even try to do this so this is good to know.

"I am a player." I said to which she nodded.

"Well I thought as much. Are you also the idiot who posted a couple of minutes ago on a blog regarding your ambush?"

I was confused as to what she meant until I realized the situation properly now.

So this idiot released the whole thing within the few minutes he had logged out.

He just jeopardized the whole mission and us dying!

Seeing Geppo fidget around the lady seemed to be able to understand the whole thing.

"I will make things short." The lady said as she walked closer to me.

"Give us sasuke Uchiha, he is an unexpected gain for us."

Sasuke seemed to register these words and grinned his teeth.

"In return?" I questioned, making Sasuke mad that I might actually be in negotiations right now.

"I will let you live."

"Do you honestly believe you can do anything to us?"

The lady paused for a moment before a condescending smile appeared on her face.

"I am a sensory type Ninja so I can tell for a fact you are only at Chunin level, and while pretty boy over there might have high Chakra amounts, that is due to his bloodline. Right now you are surrounded."

I honestly did think about giving them Sasuke for a second, anyone would weigh all their options but at the end of it I just looked around.

100 Shinobi.

Most were probably around Chunin level since Kakashi sensei wanted us to ambush Chunin.

However, after my training with the greatest Taijutsu master alive, this much was nothing to me whatsoever.

"Yeah why don't you go fuck off."

3rd gate of Life- Open!

My skin turned white in color as veins bulged through my ninja uniform.

I instantly appeared in front of the blue haired lady at speeds greatly surpassing even an Average level Jounin.

She wasn't even able to react as I kicked her jaw, sending her flying up.

I then jumped into the air and slammed her right back to the ground.

To all the Chunin around, it looked like 2 after images of me had appeared and their leader was on the ground unconscious.

"How the hell did you move so fast?" Geppo asked with his mouth agape, but I decided to ignore him, I will deal with him later.

With my insane speeds, the Chunin couldn't even see me moving as I disappeared and appeared right in front of them, and punched each of them right at their Jaws.

My speed was boderlining the level even Average Jounins would barely be able to react, but I could feel the price my body was paying through it.

Every second I moved, it felt as if my muscles were being torn, and keeping in mind this was only 10% of the normal pain, I couldn't help but wonder how the hell Lee and Guy did this.

I had mad respect for the 2 of them.

"Stop him!" One of the Chunin shouted as he threw an explosive Kunai at me, but in classic Madara fashion, I took the tag and attached it to a nearby Shinobi, kicked him, and threw the Kunai back to the guy who threw it.

If I was in another game I would have gotten the [Return to sender] achievement.

Right after that I took out some Kunai which had Ninja wires tied to them and began throwing them around. The Kunai's pierced through whatever was in its path, and I continued to appear all around the battlefield like a demon.

.

"How the hell is he moving so fast!" Sasuke said out loud as he saw me appearing at multiple places almost instantly.
