Before she knew it, Ji Aier had been strolling in the back garden until it was getting rather late at night. She went straight upstairs, not to Ji En's room, but to open the door of her former bedroom. However, it was locked.
She felt a pang of sadness because she had never locked the door before. Now it seemed that this place no longer belonged to her. So even though it was locked, she didn't have the key to open it.
Ji Aier went downstairs to find the butler, hoping to get the key to open that locked door. Otherwise, she had no idea where she should sleep at night!
"That room has already become Miss Ouyang's room," the butler told Ji Aier. "She comes to stay here for a few days every year, and she specifically asked for the room you used to live in."
"Oh!" Ji Aier felt a bit dizzy. All the discomfort and embarrassment welled up at this moment. Besides this simple monosyllable, she couldn't utter any other sound.
Ji Aier walked towards the side building of the Ji family compound, where all the servants lived, including Aunt Li and the driver, Lao Li.
She stood at the door of the main building, not knowing whether to go in or retreat.
"Where have you been?"
Ji Aier heard Ji En's cold voice. She raised her head, her eyes filled with tears that were about to well up. But she tried her best to hold them back.
"Don't cry in the future!" For a moment, Ji En had forgiven this person who had made him search for a whole seven years. When he saw her aggrieved look, he wanted to embrace her in his arms. But in the end, he only said such a sentence. He had gotten used to being cold-blooded and indifferent.
"I'm not crying!" Ji Aier finally managed to hold back the tears that were about to burst out. She had become stronger over these seven years.
"Idiot!" Ji En said, using the word he often used to scold Ji Aier in the past.
"I'm not an idiot!" Ji Aier suddenly said emotionally. Why did he always treat her like this? She could have led a peaceful life, so why did he have to appear in front of her?
"If you're not an idiot, you wouldn't have run away from home," Ji En said disdainfully, still holding a grudge about her disappearance.
"This isn't my home!" If it were her home, she wouldn't have left the Ji family in a way that was almost like being driven out.
"Wherever I am, that's your home. Don't forget your last name!" Ji En roared angrily at Ji Aier.
"You're a devil!" Ji Aier said shrilly. She felt like she was about to break down. But before she fainted, she thought of her two children.
