For Brother Minze

When Ji Aier returned to the Ji family mansion, there was still an excited smile on her face. She was really looking forward to going back to work in the design department as soon as possible.

"Sister, you're back!" Ji Aier, who was just about to enter the house, was startled by Tang Lei, who poked her head out.

"Don't you have class today, Tang Lei?" Ji Aier wasn't angry. Instead, she just smiled and asked Tang Lei. Then she walked over and sat on the sofa in the living room, feeling a bit tired in her feet.

"Sorry, I overslept," Tang Lei said, and a faint blush appeared on her delicate little face. She didn't wake up until she was hungry in the afternoon. Otherwise, she might have slept until the next morning.

"You naughty little elf!" Ji Aier couldn't help but murmur, just like she would to her own daughter. "I want to have some lemonade. What would you like to drink?"

"I don't want anything," Tang Lei said, shaking her little head. Instead, she asked expectantly, "Sister, I heard from Brother Minze that you're really good at making steak. Could you teach me?"

"Sure! But you have to tell me first why you want to learn," Ji Aier said. In the Tang family, there was probably no need for Tang Lei to do any housework. And she was a bit worried that when teaching her, if Tang Lei accidentally got splashed by oil, she might scream in pain, run away, and throw the spatula on the ground.

"For Brother Minze! He said his favorite dish is the steak you make. So I want to learn," Tang Lei said, blinking her big eyes. Her expression was so serious that it seemed like she was talking about something really important.

"Um... You're still too young. There's no rush," Ji Aier said.

"I'm already fourteen years old," Tang Lei announced seriously.

"You're still young. It's not too late to learn in a few years," Ji Aier said, thinking that when she was fourteen, she was probably still naive and didn't know much. And now, a fourteen-year-old girl seemed more mature than she was when she was eighteen.

"Okay then. I'll listen to you, sister," Tang Lei said with a bright smile.

While Ji Aier and Tang Lei were chatting, Ji En came back.

"Little Lei is here too," Ji En said to Tang Lei.

"I'm waiting for Brother Minze. Didn't he come back with Uncle Ji?" Tang Lei asked, craning her neck to look around.

"Minze has to work overtime tonight, so he'll be back later," Ji En said. He had assigned an important task to Minze today, so Minze would definitely have to work overtime to finish it.

"Oh," Tang Lei said disappointedly. "Then I'll go back now. If I don't, I'll get scolded."

"After dinner, I'll ask the driver to send you back," Ji En said.

"Thank you, Uncle Ji."

After having dinner, Ji En asked the driver to send Tang Lei back. Then he sat in the living room with Ji Aier and watched TV.

"Is it okay if I start working next week?" Ji Aier asked.

"As long as you're happy," Ji En said. This time, he didn't object because this afternoon he had seen the confident smile on her face when she was in the design department. She was eager to realize her own value, and the design department was the best place for her to do that.
