Vol Chapter 11 Interference

- 1 hour before death -

"Agghhh!!"

It hurts so much!! Help!! My heart feels hollow, I can still feel the feeling of the moment I died. The feeling dizzy and suffocated because the blood that carries oxygen is no longer flowing, the feeling that the heart is pierced and the massive bleeding that makes me die. Still clearly embedded in my memory and the senses of my body.

"I-I have to hurry..."

Ignoring everything I felt, I stood up with cold sweat already drenching my back due to the side effects of [Death Prequel].

The distance from here to the Victoria location is 1 hour, and that's if I walk. Then I will use magic to strengthen the legs and also use wind magic on the soles of the feet to add explosive power.

I then concentrated on using [Mana Sense] to analyze the terrain around me in a 50 meter radius. My [Mana Sense] which used to only be able to detect everything that had mana within a 25 meter radius has developed in the past 2 years to be able to detect within a 50 meter radius.

'Even though it's still dark, I already know the location of the trees within a 50 meter radius. With this I can use wind magic efficiently and not hit trees.'

My Mana [Em] storage is still at 40/100. I had to leave 20/100 in case Victoria got hurt or attacked by a monster. Because I saw the scars on the corpse were due to an attack from a monster, probably an E-rank monster [Assault Dog]. (AN: If you forget, [Em] is an abbreviation for Essence of Mana that I made in the previous chapter.)

"Huff..."

I slowly took a breath, I then very focused and carefully took 20% of the magic energy from my heart. Then I process it in the brain and flow it to the feet gradually. First I used it to strengthen my legs. After that I just used wind magic to push me quickly using the explosive power of the wind magic.

"[Air Burst]!"

*Boom! *

A blast of wind magic on the soles of my feet sent me flying at a very high speed. I focused myself using [Mana Sense] to detect the trees in my path so I didn't hit them.

Seeing that there was a tree in front of me blocking me from flying at high speed, and if I left it would make me crash into it. I then hit the tree to force it to divert my flight direction. It bruised my arm.

After the explosive power effect of [Air Burst] had worn off, I then ran with strengthening magic on my legs.

I continued running for 15 minutes and I saw a small light in the dark forest from a distance, which probably came from a campfire.

'Good, the light is in the same direction as Victoria's previous corpse. I still have time!' While I was thinking that, I heard a roar from next to me.

*RAWR! *

Looking in the direction of the roar, I saw a huge, pitch black claw heading towards me. The large pitch black claws hit and tore my chest to my stomach. I was thrown very far and hit a tree so hard that my internal organs were injured and blood was vomiting from my mouth.

"AKH!"

'What? It's hurt? Why can I suddenly be attacked? I didn't realize I was being attacked even when I used [Mana Sense]?' I lifted my head heavily.

"Grr!..."

The figure approached while growling softly and snorting. Lightning rumbled, from the flash of light you could see the figure of a large lion with red eyes, black fur that looked like it was made of iron, big claws stained with blood.

"I finally found you..." The black lion spoke.

'Monsters can talk? Is he an S-Rank monster? How can there be an S-Rank Monster here? Supposedly if there was, then I would have heard about it from Paul.'

"Weak! So weak! I will not accept a human like you as a leader! I am the King of this forest! I am the most powerful here!" The lion shouted and roared loudly.

*RAWR! *

The black lion raised its paw then swung it at me. Seeing its claws aiming at me, I turned my body covered in wounds and blood to avoid the attack from the black lion.

*CRASH! *

My vision started to blur, my body started to go limp. Blood continued to flow from the scratches on my chest that reached my stomach. I then used Intermediate level healing magic to heal the wounds on my body.

"[X-Healing]"

The large claw wound was starting to close, but it still couldn't heal completely. There are still long scratch marks from the chest to the stomach.

Lightning roared again, my [Mana Sense] felt movement from behind. I then rolled forward avoiding the black lion's follow-up attack.

'It turns out my [Mana Sense] is still functioning and can detect him, but this mana... Isn't this [Miasma] dregs from extracting my mana to make Essence of Mana [Em].' I thought as I continued to dodge the attacks from the black lion.

"Sh*t! Don't keep avoiding it!" The lion roared, then shot black fire from his mouth and pointed it at me.

"[Black Fire Breath]!"

I dodged quickly and saw the impact of the magic on the tree behind me, the tree was melting like a tree made of plastic that melts when exposed to fire at a very high temperature.

The surrounding temperature, which was originally cold due to the rain, became warm due to the black lion's Fire Breath.

Aiming at this opportunity, I then strengthened my hand with magic and shaped my hand like a sword. I slashed the black lion's leg and felt its hard black fur, making my attack not very effective and the wound too shallow.

"Hard!" I only have 7/100 energy left, how can I beat him?

"Hahaha! Your weak attacks won't work on me."

I then dodged the lion's counterattack, but I faintly heard a sound.

"...elp"

"Help!"

"Victoria!" After the voice became clearer, I immediately knew that the voice belonged to Victoria. I then ran towards the sound.

"Where are you going!" The lion chased and blocked in front of me. As the lion got in the way, Victoria's groans of pain were heard.

"AKHH!"

"Move!" I quickly analyzed the lion's weak points, I immediately found a way to defeat it.

The lion attacked again, I dodged while jumping on top of the lion's big head. I then put my small hand into his ear and released fire magic with a very high temperature.

"You d*mn lion! Die until your brains are scorched!"

Fire magic came out of my hand. Fire with a very high temperature entered through his right ear, then made his eardrum, his eyes, until his brain melted and passed through to his left ear.

*Thud! *

The black lion's huge body fell with a huge sound. The lion died with its head burned and only the lower part of its head remaining.

"V-Victoria..." I walked with my vision blurry and my body very weak because my [Em] energy had been used up.

After walking dragging my limp body, with my blurred vision I saw the boys who looked like beasts running away pushing Victoria whose arm was bitten by a swarm of Rank-E [Assault Dog] monsters.

Victoria who was pushed was bitten and clawed very brutally. Then one of the [Assault Dogs] looked this way and howled and the pack left leaving Victoria with her legs and arms eaten.

I continued to approach Victoria with shaking legs. Seeing Victoria's condition I tried to cast healing magic, but nothing happened because my [Em] energy had been used up.

"W-why..."

Victoria who was in a very sad state, looked at me and said,

"W-will-kun…"
