Roselyn's POV
“It's so… good to see you again after all these years, Rose. To think that we have lost our daughter for good, and the fear of never getting to meet you again.”
“Your Dad and I have missed you a lot, Rose, and we've been greatly worried about you ever since.” My mum said, refusing to let go of me.
It's been 30 minutes since I got to our family house to see them. After gathering enough courage, I finally decided to pay them a visit. It was my first visit after five years, and numerous things have changed.
Mum and Dad were so happy to see me again and have been all over me since then, my mum especially, who still had me in her embrace as she kept seizing me up and down.
She had first broken into tears upon seeing me, my father, not any different from her. He was only trying to be a man, not breaking into tears like my mother in front of me.
“Yes, that reminds me, your friend, Evelyn, told us that you were suffering from a sickness which made you relocate to the city to get better. You didn't even stop to let us know that you were leaving, simply leaving us like that, and shattering our hearts into pieces” My mother complained as she squeezed my hand, her eyes fixed on me.
“I'm sorry mum, and Dad. And I deeply apologize for that. I wasn't thinking back then, and also didn't want to bother you guys further about me. The scandalous news was already enough for you two, especially after seeing how your business suffered because of it” I answered.
“It's nothing to be compared to how much you suffered from it all. Even if it was in the smallest way, we wanted to make it easier for you to bear. Family always got each other's back in good and bad times”.
“So, my dear, you didn't do well by leaving just like that. We also wanted to share in your burden and pain” She chided.
“Hey, stop with the reprimand already you are only making her feel worse” my Father cautioned my mother who immediately stopped chiding me.
“So, how is it with you now? Are you better now? Don't you think you need to see the doctor?” My father asked.
“No, Dad, I don't think there is any need for that? You can already tell from how I am now!”
“That's nothing to tell from mere appearance. You have to see the Doctor at once. Let's have them confirm that for us. So quickly, get up, let's go to the hospital right away!”
“Come on, Dad, I'm alright. I really mean it. What I had back then was only a melancholic depression, but I'm all better now. There is really no need to see the Doctor…” Before I could finish what I was saying, Dad has already carried me up to the car.
“Regardless of what you think, we still have to see the Doctor, Rose. That is the only way we can stop worrying about you!” He mouthed, closing the car on me after dropping me at the back seat, him and mother, entering into the front seat as we quickly zoomed off to the hospital.
I am their only daughter and Child which is one of the reasons they're this protective and passionate about me.
As we arrived at the hospital, they escorted me to meet the physiotherapist. “You said the sickness was melancholic depression, right?” They had confirmed from me before going ahead to bring me to see the Doctor.
“You are?” The Doctor inquired from me before ever proceeding with anything concerning me.
“I'm Roselyn Davis, Doctor!” I answered.
“Alright, Roselyn Davis. I'm Doctor Esther by the way, It's good to have you here” She responded, stretching forth her hands for a handshake with me.
“Thank you, Doctor.”
“Anytime, dear. You may have your seat now!” She directed as I immediately sat down.
“So tell me in details how the emotional state of your mind back then and now is and all the changes that you've experienced ever since. Please omit no one, and honestly let them out to me. Only then will I be able to properly diagnose you” She communicated.
“Sure, Doctor. I had no intention of lying to you in the first place” I answered, giving her a pleasant smile.
“Very well then, we might as well kick it off” She responded, returning my smile.
After my section with the physiotherapist Doctor, I left to join my parents at the hospital’s reception hall, where they were waiting for me.
“She asked that we wait for the result of my section with her which will come out in few minutes” I related to my parents, joining them in their seat.
I was still speaking with them when two familiar figures walked up to the receptionist at her office's counter, “Where is our son? His name is Daniel, and he was rushed over to your hospital a few minutes ago.” They asked, running paranoid as the man kept tugging at his head in a frenzy.
“Who did I just see? Is that not Raymond and Miss Catherine I'm seeing right now?” I asked, rubbing my face, heard.
“You are not wrong, Rose. It’s truly Raymond, your ex-fiance. But who is that woman with her? You seem to know who she is” My father asked.
“Yes, Dad, she was the vice-principal of the high school back then but now the principal, having taken over from his father now”
“What a coincidence, but why are the both of them together right now, do you mean to tell me that they know each other?” My Mother asked.
“That's not even the issue, mum, as am already aware of that, but what is this about them having a son, called Daniel?”
“Do you think they're married to each other?” My mum asked, my mouth hanging open i
n shock.
“No way, mum. I don't want to believe that!” I muttered.
