Chapter 2 Company Registration

"Let's meet here tomorrow at 8 o'clock."

After confirming the employment relationship, Song Jiang smiled and waved his hand. Zhao Mingxuan nodded in confusion and walked away as if in a dream.

Just like that, I got the job.

A salary of 10,000?!

This was something he had never dared to think about before, but it really happened. Zhao Mingxuan calmed down after returning to his small and shabby rental house.

At that moment, his phone vibrated.

It was a message from his former colleagues.

"F**k me! I'm done! That new nephew of the CEO knows nothing but still insists on giving orders! He yells at me every time something goes wrong! I'm quitting!!"

"Oh, you'll get used to it. Bosses are all the same."

"Performance targets go up every year, but the workload never decreases. Ugh!"

"This morning, you were talking about sticking through hard times together, but when there's money to be made, suddenly I'm on my own!"

Amid the complaints, Zhao Mingxuan could sense their frustration. But he knew most of them would grumble today and still show up for work tomorrow.

He used to be the same way.

Until he was laid off.

"By the way, Brother Zhao, have you found a job yet? If you have, take me with you! I'm sick of being ordered around by that idiot!"

"It's not easy to find a job these days."

"Yeah, tell me about it."

Zhao Mingxuan hesitated for a moment before finally replying:

"I found one."

As soon as the words appeared, the chat exploded.

"You finally showed up!"

"Brother Zhao, where are you working?"

"As expected of Brother Zhao! You landed a job so quickly!"

Amid the envious voices, Zhao Mingxuan smiled faintly. Then someone asked:

"Which company?"

"Tengsheng."

"Tengsheng? Never heard of it."

Someone quickly searched online, but nothing came up. Then they tried looking it up in a business registry app.

The result:

[No such company found.]

"Hiss—Brother Zhao, are you sure this isn't a scam?" Someone sent a screenshot. "Did you sign a contract?"

Zhao Mingxuan froze.

"No."

"Then you definitely got scammed! A legit company would at least show up in a business registry!"

"Yeah, Brother Zhao, be careful! There are tons of job scams nowadays!"

"Exactly!"

With all the concerned warnings, Zhao Mingxuan fell into deep thought.

Was I really tricked?

The young man's confident voice still echoed in his ears, but now, it only left a bitter smile on his lips.

"What kind of company hires people that casually? It was probably just talk."

He silently closed the chat and went back to scrolling job listings.

The next morning, his alarm rang at 7 o'clock sharp.

By sheer habit, Zhao Mingxuan got up, washed his face, and checked his reflection.

I have to find something today.

Encouraging himself, he headed back to Yenching University. The job fair lasted three days, and today was the final day.

If he couldn't find anything, he'd have to rely on luck.

Merging into the crowd of young graduates, he approached a booth. The recruiter looked at him strangely.

"You're a student? You look… mature."

Zhao Mingxuan smiled. "I'm in my thirties. I just wanted to ask—"

Before he could finish, the recruiter's face turned cold.

"We don't hire people over 30. Competing with fresh grads at your age? No way."

"Sorry." Zhao Mingxuan forced a stiff smile and walked away.

Then came rejection after rejection.

"The layoff at your last company? That sounds like a performance issue."

"Sales director? You don't seem like a natural talker. Sorry, you're not the right fit."

"We only hire fresh graduates."

Similar responses hit him again and again.

Wandering the street, he unknowingly ended up back at the same corner as yesterday. But now, the previously deserted booth had a long line.

Excited, he walked forward—only to see the banner:

Red Dust Vision.

Wait… isn't this supposed to be Tengsheng?

"What's Tengsheng?" The recruiter at the booth frowned. "This booth belongs to Red Dust Vision. Anyway, are you interested? We're hiring salespeople."

"No, thank you."

Zhao Mingxuan turned and walked away without hesitation.

There's no such thing as easy money.

At that moment, a hand landed on his shoulder.

"There you are! I was wondering why I couldn't find you."

Song Jiang grinned at him.

"You're late, Mr. Zhao."

Zhao Mingxuan's eyes widened.

"Tengsheng?"

"That's right." Song Jiang lifted his wrist, showing his watch. "You're a little behind schedule. We have a lot to do."

"Get ready. You start work today."

"…Huh?"

Before he could react, Song Jiang had already grabbed his arm and pulled him into a taxi.

Crossing his legs, Song Jiang checked the GPS.

"Driver, just head straight to the Industrial and Commercial Bureau. No detours."

"Got it!"

Through the heavy traffic and changing lights, half an hour later, they arrived.

Zhao Mingxuan frowned. "Why are we here?"

His first words since getting into the car.

"To register a company."

"Huh?"

Song Jiang glanced at him. "Then I'll sign your employment contract."

"What?!" Zhao Mingxuan stiffened, his pupils shrinking. "You mean—you're not a scammer?!"

Song Jiang blinked, then suddenly burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha!! So that's why you were late!" He clapped Zhao Mingxuan on the shoulder. "Don't worry, I only scam my employees!"

Somehow, that was oddly reassuring.

Song Jiang stepped inside and handed over the necessary paperwork.

The process was smooth and quick.

"What's the company name?" The clerk asked, typing on a keyboard.

"Tengsheng."

"Legal representative?"

"Song Jiang."

The crisp sound of typing.

Ten minutes later, the clerk handed him the registration certificate.

Company established.

Song Jiang walked out with a satisfied grin, while Zhao Mingxuan stood there, stunned.

"That was… fast?" He had friends who started businesses, and they always complained about the complicated procedures.

"I've got connections." Song Jiang smirked.

At that moment, a system panel popped up.

[Tengsheng Enterprise]

Level: 1 Capital: 1 million Employees: 1 Business: None

[Host, please expand your company, recruit more employees, and develop production lines!]

Ignoring the system's nagging, Song Jiang casually hailed another taxi.

Zhao Mingxuan hesitated before getting in. Suddenly, he realized something.

"Wait… what's your name?"

"Song Jiang."

"And who's the legal representative of Tengsheng?"

"I am."

Zhao Mingxuan choked on his own saliva, coughing violently. His face turned red.

"You're the boss?!"
