My Perfect Score

Haruna tapped her pencil against her desk, staring at the last question like it was some kind of ancient riddle. Her ears twitched with frustration, and her tail swayed back and forth.

"Kiki…" she whispered.

Kikidori glanced over. "What now?"

"I think my brain has officially melted."

He sighed. "C'mon, you were doing fine a minute ago. What's the problem?"

She dramatically pointed at the final question. "It's evil."

Kikidori leaned over and read the problem. It was tricky, but nothing she couldn't handle—if she actually used the steps they just went over.

"Alright, take it slow," he murmured. "What's the first thing you do?"

She scrunched her nose in thought. "Uhhh… move x to the other side?"

He gave her an approving nod. "Good. Then what?"

She carefully worked through the steps, muttering to herself the entire time. When she reached the final answer, her eyes widened.

"Wait… is that right?"

Kikidori checked her work.

"...Yeah. You got it."

Haruna gasped. "Holy shit. I actually finished it?"

"You actually finished it."

Her tail flicked excitedly, and she pumped her fists in victory. "I AM UNSTOPPABLE!"

The teacher cleared his throat from the front of the room. "Miss Haruna. Indoor voices, please."

Haruna quickly covered her mouth. "Sorry, sir."

Kikidori chuckled as he finished his own test. They both turned in their papers just as the bell rang, signaling the end of the period.

As they walked out, Haruna stretched her arms above her head, her tail curling slightly. "Man, I probably bombed that test."

Kikidori smirked. "Wanna bet?"

Haruna narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean?"

Just then, the teacher called out behind them. "Kikidori! Haruna!"

They turned around, and he waved two papers in the air. "Perfect scores. Both of you."

Haruna blinked. "Wait… what?!"

"You got a hundred," Kikidori said, grinning. "Told you."

Haruna's mouth fell open. Then, after a second, she meowed loudly in excitement and tackled Kikidori into a hug.

"Kiki, I'm a genius!"

Kikidori stumbled back but managed to keep his balance. "Yeah, yeah. Told you it wasn't that hard."

She pulled away, beaming. "Alright, this calls for a celebration. I demand snacks later."

Kikidori rolled his eyes playfully. "Fine, but you're paying."

She gasped, placing a hand over her chest. "How dare you make a lady pay for her own victory meal!"

He smirked. "Sucks to suck."

Haruna pouted, but before she could argue more, the hallway filled with students moving to their next class.

"Gym time," Kikidori muttered.

Haruna groaned. "Ugh. The only subject I don't wanna pass."

Kikidori chuckled. "Don't be dramatic. You're fast as hell."

"Yeah, but I hate push-ups," she whined.

They reached the locker rooms, where they had to split up. Haruna made a face as she walked toward the girls' side. "Alright, Kiki. If I die, tell my story."

He smirked. "I'll make sure it's a good one."

She gave him a playful salute before disappearing inside.

Kikidori shook his head, chuckling to himself. Haruna was ridiculous, but he wouldn't have her any other way.
