Jr. Hemester tried to steer the conversation away from the forest and its fate. "Hey, Dad, I was thinking... how about we go hunting soon? Just the two of us?"
His father's face lit up with excitement. "That sounds like a great idea, son! I'll invite some friends, and we can make a day of it. And I'll make sure to bring their daughters along... you can pick one out for yourself!" He chuckled, clearly amused by the prospect.
Jr. rolled his eyes, feeling a surge of annoyance. "Dad, I don't need you to set me up with anyone. I'm happy just the way I am."
His father raised an eyebrow. "You're not getting any younger, Jr. You need to start thinking about settling down, getting married, and having a family of your own."
Jr. shook his head, feeling a sense of frustration. "Not today, Dad. Not tomorrow. I'm not ready for that yet."
His father sighed, clearly exasperated. "You're being naughty, Jr. But fine... have it your way. I'll let it drop for now."
Jr. nodded, relieved that the conversation had been diverted. "I'm going to go get Grandpa... he's been wanting to see you."
His father nodded, his expression softening. "Good, good... give him my best."
As Jr. left the room, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that his father wouldn't give up on the idea of him settling down and getting married. And he also knew that he had to find a way to stop his father's plans to cut down the forest.
Little did Jr. know, Bella and the girls were still living in the forest, unaware of the danger that lurked on the horizon. But Jr. was determined to do everything in his power to protect the forest and its inhabitants.
