As Hampton the First and Jr descended the stairs, they were greeted by the sound of laughter and playful chatter. The girls were seated on the floor, surrounded by toys and books, while Bella sat in the midst of them, her hair being styled by the girls.
Bianca looked up, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Your hair is rough but long," she said, her voice filled with curiosity.
Bella smiled, her eyes shining with warmth. "You know, we black people have rough hair, but we can style it in any way we want."
Lisa's eyes lit up. "I've seen you plaiting almost every style. Can you teach me?" she asked, her voice filled with eagerness.
Bella's face broke into a warm smile. "I will, okay?" she said, hugging Lisa tightly.
Bonita and Bianca rushed to Bella, eager to learn from her. "Even me!" they exclaimed in unison, hugging Bella tightly.
Hampton the First chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "You've brought me other grandchildren," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "Since you're old and always busy, I have got those who will replace you."
Jr laughed, his eyes shining with mirth. "You can have them, but don't take them away."
As they joined the girls, Bonita looked up at Hampton the First, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Grandpa, your hair is white, and you're tall. Are you a general in the army?"
Hampton the First laughed, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, I was, but even now, I'm still working."
Bianca's eyes lit up. "Can I join the army too?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement.
Jr's expression turned serious, remembering what Mr. Park had said about Lisa and Bianca being twins. "You'll first attend school, then when you grow old, you can join as you wish."
Bianca's eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly. Bonita spoke up, her voice filled with determination. "I want to be a doctor. I've been seeing them on TV."
Hampton the First smiled, his eyes shining with pride. "You have to study hard."
Lisa's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Can I be the next president, please?"
The room erupted in laughter, and Bella said, "I'll vote for you."
Everyone raised their hands in agreement, and Hampton the First smiled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Jr, I'm going. I left your grandmother at home. I didn't tell her I'd come to check on you since I had some work."
The girls looked up, their eyes wide with excitement. "You mean we have a grandmother now? And when shall we meet her?"
Jr smiled, his eyes shining with warmth. "Soon."
As Hampton the First prepared to leave, the girls bid him farewell, asking him to greet their grandmother and to come back soon. Lisa looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I have to keep plaiting your hair because you look like an ancient god."
Everyone laughed, and Hampton the First smiled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Bye, Bella. Thank you for saving those girls. You deserve to be a national hero."
Bella smiled, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you."
As Jr escorted his grandfather to his vehicle, the guards and driver were waiting for him. They bid him farewell, and he left, leaving Jr to ponder the events of the day.
