Seeing the ghoul corpses on the ground along with a half-kakuja's body nearby, and the quinque in Mo Mo's hand, Uruka Minami immediately asked:
"Was that you?"
Mo Mo nodded. "Yes. I heard there's been some serious unrest in the 22nd Ward lately, so I came to see if I could help. I've been coming around here after class every day to investigate, but hadn't found anything, until today, when I suddenly stumbled upon them."
He then looked a bit awkward again, "As it turns out, you were the ones who drew them out… Now I feel like I might've been a bit unnecessary," he added, again, awkwardly, scratching his head.
"Not at all, we're still very grateful for your help," Minami said with a smile. "But if you were able to defeat that half-kakuja, it means you're decently strong too."
"It's alright. You guys are way stronger than I am," Mo Mo replied.
"Say, Mo Mo-San, did you come here for studies because of a mission?" Rika asked, though she was already sure he had to be a ghoul investigator, she wanted to be careful.
"Not really. I came here to study purely for academic reasons. Work is a separate matter," Mo Mo explained. "If there's an important mission over there, I'd still be recalled temporarily."
"That should about wrap things up. Let's call someone to clean up the scene, then we should head back," said Byakuya at that moment.
He immediately used his comms device to call it in.
A few minutes later, multiple TSC members in charge of cleanup had arrived.
They were all interns, specifically assigned to handle non-dangerous grunt work like this. Just like the Rank 3 Investigators and Assistant Investigators from the old CCG days.
As they were parting ways with Mo Mo, Byakuya and the others spotted the Vice President of the Ghoul Research Society at the station, Suzuki Aoka.
The fact that she had happened to appear here at a time like this already said a lot.
"Looks like there's something going on between the president and vice president," Eto said with a light chuckle.
"Well, we're all college students. I've heard that most humans want to experience love during their university years. It's a pretty common thing," Minami said, glancing back at Arima.
"Yeah. That's what makes college life so vibrant and colorful. Once you graduate, you won't have this kind of opportunity and environment anymore," Byakuya added.
Thinking back to before he transmigrated, if nothing had gone wrong, then after graduating college, he would've just gone on to live the same cookie-cutter life as everyone else:
Get a job, save money, buy a house and car, get married, have kids...
He wouldn't be able to enjoy the carefree days of his student life anymore.
Fortunately, that was no longer something he had to worry about.
The situation in the 22nd Ward was resolved smoothly and quickly, just in time to make it back for the celebration in the 20th Ward's "Anteiku District."
That day, the entire Anteiku District shut down operations because everyone went out to have fun together.
The outing itself was pretty simple, it was just a trip to a theme park or similar spots.
After all, most of them were ghouls who couldn't exactly eat regular food, in the end, they couldn't have a group meal. That meant the classic "feast" experience was off the table.
What were they going to do, hold a human meat banquet?
That was bviously impossible.
Still, simplicity aside, the feeling of going out together with everyone was completely different.
If you go out alone, even the most fun activities can feel like they're lacking something important.
For example, if Byakuya went out alone, he definitely wouldn't consider going to places like the movie theater. Even going out to have a big meal by himself would feel a little strange.
At the very least, he'd want to bring along a friend to feel more comfortable. Of course, everyone's personality and preferences were different when it came to this type of stuff.
In the end, everyone from the "Anteiku District" took a group photo together.
Yoshimura Kuzen stood in the very center, smiling with both Byakuya and Eto right beside him.
It was already getting late, so they headed home after taking the photo.
On the way back, Yoshimura Kuzen suddenly spoke up: "Byakuya talked to me before about the matter of your marriage. Eto, you've known about it for a while now, haven't you?"
Eto was slightly taken aback and clearly a little surprised that her father would suddenly bring up the topic.
She nodded and said, "Yea, we've already decided on the time to get married, but he doesn't seem to have told me what your stance on it was."
From her impression, Byakuya had never mentioned what Kuzen actually thought about the matter.
"My stance? I definitely wouldn't have any objections. After all, I've never fulfilled my responsibilities as a father, so I have no right to interfere in your affairs," Yoshimura Kuzen said with a gentle smile.
"But if I must express an opinion, then I absolutely support the two of you."
"I understand," Eto nodded slightly.
"What?! Uchiha-san and Eto-san are already getting married this soon?" Kirishima Arata exclaimed.
"If anything, they already act like an old married couple on a daily basis," Irimi Kaya said with a laugh.
"Well then, the manager will really be a grandpa soon," Koma Enji remarked.
"That's so fast..." Minami softly gasped.
