Chapter 4: Spending Money ( part two)

Chapter 4: Spending Money ( part two)

The luxury boutique maintained a peaceful environment despite the background sounds of conversations and shopping activities.

Jenny's joyful laughter floated through the air while she held Urek Han's arm tightly and displayed a complete transformation from her former icy behavior into a loving and friendly disposition. She gently touched his jacket sleeve while looking up at him with eyes that now glowed with affection.

"Thank you, my dear husband~ You're so good to me, my dear husband~"

Her words sounded like syrup as she used a fake seductive tone that seemed memorized.

Rose remained motionless with her hands tightly clenched at her sides while the boutique staff exchanged hushed conversations.

The boutique clerk Melissa Manobin shared with her co-worker her confusion about why wealthy men would be tightfisted with their girlfriends yet regular-looking men would freely spend large sums of money.

She took a deep breath and gently swayed her head while saying, "Our job training involves learning not to judge based on physical appearances." The actual nature of wealth transcends outward attributes since it stems from what you do rather than how you appear.

The words floated through the air as if they were heavy stones that crushed Rose's spirit. She struggled to stay calm while her face turned somber and her lips formed a tight line.

The tension in her entire body grew worse because she knew Jenny was correct.

Bags are like boyfriends.

Stealing things brings the most gratifying feeling.

Urek and Jenny stood together as she recognized she had secured a major catch. A golden fish. No. something even more valuable.

The man would waste his money on her without hesitation.

She gently squeezed Urek's arm while her facial expression transformed into a gentle and modest appearance.

From her nearby position Rose experienced a sudden piercing pain in her heart.

"Urek Han... You've gone too far."

Her voice was quiet but laced with suppressed emotion.

But Urek only looked at her calmly. His smirk was faint, but his words were deliberate.

"Too much?" His voice was light, casual, as if he was simply stating a fact.

"Step by step, Rose. We have plenty of time."

And then.

[System Notification: Second Devotion Target Identified.]

A familiar, translucent blue screen materialized before Urek's eyes.

[Target: Rose Han]

[Age: 21]

[Height: 163 cm]

[Weight: 49 kg]

[Appearance Rating: 75]

[Current Favorability: -10]

[When the target's favorability surpasses 95 points, Devotion will be achieved.]

[Upon success, 10% of the target's spent funds will be credited to the host, along with 20 Enhancement Points.]

Urek's gaze flickered over the screen before it vanished, leaving behind only a single thought in his mind.

The game had only just begun.

[The 90 Billion Devotion System Activated]

Kim Jenny approached Urek Han with a playful expression, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "Are you still mad? My performance wasn't bad, right?" She tilted her head, feigning innocence, as if the entire shopping spree had been some kind of test.

Before Urek could respond, she grabbed his arm, shaking it gently. "Next, let's go somewhere. Where to?" She grinned. "Of course, to continue shopping! Isn't it, isn't it? You wouldn't be satisfied with just buying one bag, right?"

Without waiting for his answer, she pulled him toward another luxury boutique. The store exuded an air of sophistication, with glass shelves lined with limited-edition handbags, designer perfumes, and elegant accessories. The moment they stepped inside, the attendants immediately took notice.

Urek Han, however, wasted no time. He scanned the shelves, then casually pointed at various items with an air of absolute confidence.

"That one, that one… except for those two. Wrap up the rest and swipe the card," he instructed, his voice calm yet commanding.

The salesperson's eyes widened in excitement before bowing deeply. "Yes, sir! We will have everything delivered to the address you provide shortly!"

Kim Jenny clutched the branded bags in her hands, unable to suppress the delight bubbling in her chest. There was something undeniably attractive about a man who spent money so effortlessly.

[Kim Jenny's Favorability +5]

As Urek continued swiping, the numbers piled up. Perfume—another 5 points. Makeup—lipsticks, eyeliners, high-end foundation—another 5 points. Clothes—designer outfits, stylish coats—another 5 points.

Jenny's heart pounded. She had never seen anyone spend like this before. It was intoxicating, mesmerizing.

But just as she was about to suggest taking a break, Urek stunned her with his next words.

"No space?" He raised an eyebrow, completely unfazed. "No problem. Let me buy a house for you."

Jenny's breath hitched. The words were spoken so naturally, as if purchasing a house was no different from buying a piece of candy.

In that instant, multiple transaction alerts flashed across Urek's mind.

[30,000 USD deducted]

[70,000 USD deducted]

[111,000 USD deducted]

[24,000 USD deducted]

For the first time that day, Jenny hesitated. Her excitement wavered, replaced by a creeping sense of unease.

"Well, well… this isn't good," she murmured, her fingers tightening around the shopping bags. "You spent so much money…" Her voice wavered slightly. "Spending this much on our first meeting… I was just joking, you know."

Her favorability ticked downward.

[Kim Jenny's Favorability -5]

Urek caught the flicker of hesitation in her eyes. He knew instantly. he had pushed too far. Spending recklessly was one thing, but making her feel overwhelmed? That was dangerous.

Adjusting his approach, he leaned in, lowering his voice to a gentle murmur.

"Kim Jenny, a third-year student at the Academy of Arts," he began smoothly. "Twenty-one years old, 165 cm tall, weighs 49 kg, likes the color black. Favorite food? Korean cuisine. Capricorn. Shoe size? 37. You enjoy horror movies, but you're afraid of walking alone at night."

Jenny's eyes widened in shock. "How…?"

"If I didn't know these things, why would I approach you like this?" Urek said with a knowing smile.

Before she could respond, he turned to the store staff. "Top up her membership card with 50,000 USD."

The attendant hurried to comply, while Urek casually pointed at the latest models on display. "These are the newest arrivals. Take a look."

Then, with a smirk, he turned back to Jenny. "If what happened earlier made you worried, consider this card as my compensation."

Jenny's heart skipped a beat. The unexpected consideration, the meticulous attention to detail… It caught her off guard.

Her lips parted slightly as she stared at him, her usual playful demeanor momentarily slipping.

"If you still have doubts," Urek added, "just take this as a sincere gesture."

Jenny's cheeks flushed a deep red. She instinctively tilted her chin up, pretending to scoff. "Despicable… you spoiled brat."

Yet, despite her words, the system notification chimed in.

[Kim Jenny's Favorability +30]

She turned on her heels and walked away quickly, her steps betraying a flustered energy.

The store attendants whispered among themselves, admiration in their eyes.

"This guy may look ordinary, but he's so generous."

"Not just generous—he's thoughtful too."

"He's totally in love."

Urek smirked. The praise only solidified his confidence. He was beginning to understand something crucial—teasing was far more effective than trying to flaunt wealth outright.

After a long shopping spree, Jenny finally spoke up, frowning slightly. "You bought so much for me… but nothing for yourself."

The truth was, Urek was broke. But before he could respond, Jenny's gaze softened, and a small smile played on her lips.

"Reeling in a big fish isn't just about taking," she mused. "Sometimes, you have to give a little too."

With that, she took his hand and led him to another section of the store.

"Sit down," she instructed, pushing him into a chair.

Urek blinked in confusion. "What are you"

"Shhh." Jenny silenced him with a finger to his lips.

She carefully selected clothes for him, her eyes scanning for the perfect fit. Then, without warning, she pulled him toward the salon inside the department store.

The next thirty minutes were a blur of skilled hands working through his hair, styling and trimming. By the end of it, the transformation was undeniable.

The man who had walked into the store looking slightly disheveled now exuded elegance. His hair was neatly styled, his features sharper, his aura refined.

Jenny stared at him, momentarily at a loss for words.

A second passed. Then another. Her gaze lingered.

[Kim Jenny's Favorability +5]

Urek tilted his head, amused. "What?"

Jenny quickly averted her gaze, clearing her throat. "Nothing. Let's go."

She started walking ahead, but not before stealing another quick glance.

[Kim Jenny's Favorability +5]

Urek chuckled. This was turning out to be even more interesting than he expected.
