Chapter 5: Livestream Gifter
The crisp evening air clung to Park Jimin's skin as he stepped back onto campus, his sharp new appearance turning more than a few heads. Gone was the disheveled young man who had once blended into the crowd; in his place stood someone refined, polished. a man who exuded an effortless charm. His fresh haircut framed his face perfectly, accentuating his sharp jawline, while his tailored outfit hugged his frame in just the right way. Even his posture seemed to carry a newfound confidence, his steps lighter, more assured.
As he walked toward the dormitory, the murmurs around him grew.
"Wait... Is that urek han?"
"Are you kidding? That guy? No way."
"He looks completely different. What happened to him?"
Their hushed whispers brushed past him like a breeze, but Urek Han remained indifferent. He was too preoccupied with the faint scent of Jenny's perfume still lingering on his clothes.
The thought of her teasing smirk played on repeat in his mind.
"You look very compatible with me now."
The way she had tilted his chin with her delicate fingers, her dark eyes glimmering with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. it had made his heart beat faster, even if he wouldn't admit it.
Even now, his jaw tingled at the memory of her soft touch.
A low chuckle escaped his lips.
"That woman really knows how to play her cards."
Just as he reached his dormitory door, he barely had time to push it open before a barrage of voices crashed down on him like a tidal wave.
"Damn! Who is this fine gentleman? Did we get a new roommate?"
"No way, that's Jimin! What the hell happened to you?"
His roommates practically jumped off their beds, circling him with wide, exaggerated expressions of shock.
One of them, Kang Doyoon, grabbed his shoulders and turned him left and right, inspecting him like he was a rare artifact.
"I swear, this isn't the same guy who left this evening," Doyoon muttered in disbelief. "Jimin, be honest. did you sell your soul?"
The others snickered, nudging each other.
The youngest, Han Taesung, elbowed Doyoon and whispered dramatically, "I bet it's because of Kim Jenny."
The mention of that name instantly shifted the atmosphere.
A smirk spread across Doyoon's lips. "Ohhh, so it's like that, huh? Even Jon Hoseo couldn't hold onto her, but you think you can?"
Park Jimin arched an eyebrow but said nothing.
Another roommate, Choi Minjae, leaned forward with a knowing grin. "Jimin-ah, you need real skills to keep a girl like that."
"Yeah, yeah," Doyoon added, crossing his arms. "It's not just about throwing money around, you know."
Jimin's expression remained unreadable, but deep inside, he found their reactions amusing. They had no idea that he now held a power they couldn't begin to comprehend.
But before he could say anything, his phone buzzed.
[1 New Message: Rose]
The name made him pause.
Curious, he opened the message.
Rose: "If you really hate me, let's just unfriend each other."
Jimin's eyes narrowed slightly.
"So, she's testing me, huh?"
It wasn't hard to see what was happening. Rose wasn't just randomly suggesting this. she wanted to gauge his reaction. If he agreed too quickly, she'd think he was still bitter over their breakup. If he refused, she'd assume he still cared.
A delicate balance.
Instead of responding to Rose, he did something unexpected.
He switched chats and opened Kim Jenny's messages.
Typing carefully, he crafted his reply.
Urek: You will always be the most special in my heart.
The words were neither overly passionate nor distant. Just enough to make Jenny feel cherished without giving away too much.
Seconds after he hit send, another notification popped up.
Rose: …
Then, another.
Rose: yanyan is sick. She needs medicine. The hospital bills are expensive… around 50,000 yuan.
Jimin leaned back against the wall, tilting his head slightly.
"So this is the angle you're playing."
Rose request wasn't just about money. It was another test. If he refused, she'd assume he was no longer worth keeping around. If he gave too much, she'd see him as an easy target.
Urek smiled faintly and typed his response.
Urek: Alright.
And then, he casually transferred 50,000 yuan.
The moment the transaction was complete, he could almost imagine Rose's stunned face.
Somewhere in the city, Rose was staring at her screen, disbelief flickering across her expression.
"He really sent it?"
The weight of the amount felt heavier than she expected. It was enough to cover Rose's immediate needs, but also enough to make her hesitate. If Urek could afford to send this much so casually, just how much money did he really have now?
Her fingers hovered over her keyboard. Should she ask more questions? Should she say thank you?
Before she could decide, another voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Rose, who sent you money?"
Yanyan peeked over her shoulder. When she saw the amount, her eyes widened.
"Fifty thousand?! Who would send you this much?"
Rose quickly locked her phone, her mind racing.
"Just… an old friend."
But inside, a storm was brewing.
And Urek?
He had already moved on to his next plan.
With a lazy stretch, he grabbed his phone again and scrolled through different apps.
"If I'm going to spend money extravagantly on women, there's one place that's perfect for that."
His fingers hovered over the live-streaming app before tapping it open.
Bright colors flashed on his screen, revealing countless live streams filled with beautiful women entertaining their audiences.
Among them, one name caught his eye.
Little Nine Nye.
A popular live-streamer known for her sweet voice and captivating charm.
Urek smirked.
"Let's make things interesting."
He navigated to the gift section.
100 rockets.
100,000 dong.
Without hesitation, he pressed send.
The chat exploded.
[User "smokingBunny" has sent 100 rockets!]
[Little Nine Nye: !!!]
The stream, which had been lively but ordinary, suddenly descended into chaos. Messages flooded the chat.
"Wait, who is this guy?"
"100 rockets? That's insane!"
"Bro just casually dropped a fortune??"
Even the streamer, Little Nine Nye, was stunned. Her bright eyes widened as she leaned closer to the screen.
"Ah… W-who…? SmokingBunny-ssi, is this real?" Her voice trembled slightly, a mix of excitement and disbelief.
Her fingers brushed against her lips as she giggled, flustered. "You're too generous! I have to thank you properly…"
Just as she was about to say more, a new notification popped up.
[SmokingBunny has sent 100 more rockets.]
A stunned silence fell over the stream.
The chat went wild.
"HE DID IT AGAIN?!"
"WHAT KIND OF GOD-TIER SIMP IS THIS?!"
"IS HE TRYING TO BUY THE STREAMER?!"
Little Nine Nye gasped, covering her mouth with both hands. "Omo… SmokingBunny-ssi, you… you're incredible!"
Her voice grew softer, more intimate. "I feel like I need to give you something special in return…"
Urek leaned back in his chair, watching the chaos unfold.
His lips curled into a slow, knowing smirk.
"Let's see just how far money can take me."
And then, he sent another 100 rockets.
