Chapter 6: Smoking Bunny
The online comments section became a hotbed of viewer responses. Some viewers were in awe, while others were skeptical, throwing around accusations like "rich second generation" or "money laundering." The majority of viewers expressed absolute disbelief about the situation.
Urek Han chose to intensify his efforts instead of retreating. He made the decision to spend additional funds by launching nine hundred rockets consecutively.
The screen displayed magnificent virtual fireworks while the stream immediately reached the number one spot on the platform's rankings. The platform's staff members became uncomfortable because of the enormous amount of money being spent. The system's alert notifications which normally trigger for major donations continued to sound repeatedly.
The streaming company's management office boss massaged his temples while observing the situation. Staff members stood near him while exchanging anxious whispers.
"Sir… this Smoking Bunny guy… he just spent another fortune."
The boss let out a deep sigh. Urek Han had caught his attention previously because he had made similar extravagant donations before. Smoking Bunny made his last donation when he gave Little Nine Nye one billion dollars during a single night.
"One million," the boss muttered, his fingers tapping the table. We must create a relationship with this individual if he proves genuine. We need to discover a method to maintain his presence.
Little Nine Nye found herself in a state of complete overwhelm while sitting inside the streamer's private resting area.
Her team sent her an overwhelming number of messages at that moment.
"Hurry up and contact him!"
"Do whatever it takes to build a connection!"
"This is the biggest donor we've ever had!"
Little Nine Nye's hands shook while she watched the chat messages appear on her screen. Was this real? She checked if she was dreaming by pinching her arm.
A staff member entered the room while holding a printed note.
"The boss sent a message," the staff member said, handing it over.
Little Nine Nye finished reading the message in a short amount of time.
[If you can establish a personal relationship with Lonely Smoker, your commission rate will increase by 10%.]
Her eyes gleamed with determination. An opportunity like this... I can't let it slip away.
Without hesitation, she switched back to the live stream. Her expression softened as she blinked sweetly at the camera, her voice laced with sincerity.
"Smoking Bunny~ thank you so much for your generosity! If you'd like, I'd be more than happy to personally promote you... or even chat privately."
She sent Urek Han multiple messages, but…
Nothing.
The chat remained silent.
Unknown to her, Urek Han had already closed his laptop and stretched lazily. He knew she was trying to reach out, but he simply ignored her messages.
Instead, he lay back in bed, arms behind his head, and let out a deep breath.
As the warmth of sleep washed over him, a thought crossed his mind.
So this is what power feels like...
Then, with a faint smirk, he closed his eyes and drifted off into a deep, peaceful slumber.
---
The morning sunlight streamed into the dormitory, casting golden streaks across the wooden floor. The air carried the faint scent of instant coffee and unwashed laundry, mixing with the crisp freshness of the morning.
Urek Han stood at the sink, lazily brushing his teeth, his movements slow and unhurried. His reflection stared back at him through the slightly fogged-up mirror, his disheveled hair adding to his casual indifference. He spit out the foam, rinsed his mouth, and wiped his face with a towel, feeling the cool water refreshing his skin.
Behind him, the dorm buzzed with an unusual level of energy. His three roommates were huddled together, their eyes glued to a phone screen, the excited murmurs filling the room.
"Bro, this is insane!" one of them blurted out, gripping the phone tightly.
"Who the hell has one million to casually throw away on a live stream?" another added, his voice filled with both admiration and disbelief.
Urek's ears perked up slightly, but he maintained his relaxed demeanor. He reached for his phone on the desk, unlocking it with a lazy swipe. The screen was flooded with notifications. Messages, missed calls, system prompts. an overwhelming number of them. He scrolled through the chaos, his thumb hovering over the unopened messages from Little Nine Nye.
His lips curled slightly. So she didn't bind with me after all?
With a few taps, he navigated to the system interface. A notification popped up immediately.
[Real-life interaction is required to establish a relationship bind.]
Ah… so that's how it works.
Leaning against the desk, he tapped his fingers lightly against the wooden surface, his expression unreadable. He had assumed that all that money was gone for good, but looking at the sheer number of messages flooding his inbox, he realized something else entirely.
Another notification flashed.
[New unread messages from multiple users.]
His brow arched slightly. Clicking into the message list, he saw a stream of unfamiliar names. Women. dozens of them. Some were professional streamers, others were students, influencers, even strangers who had caught wind of his lavish spending.
Urek exhaled sharply through his nose, an amused smirk playing on his lips.
"So this is what happens when you recklessly throw money around. Have I accidentally turned into a chick magnet?"
He glanced over at his roommates, still engrossed in their discussion. They had no idea that the "mysterious tycoon" they were raving about was standing just a few feet away.
Shoving his phone into his pocket, Urek stretched his arms above his head, letting out a yawn. That was enough entertainment for now.
At that moment, his roommates suddenly scrambled to grab their bags, adjusting their clothes and checking their reflections in the small mirror by the door. They looked unusually eager.
Urek narrowed his eyes, watching their behavior with mild curiosity. "Hey, where are you guys rushing off to?" he asked, his voice carrying a lazy drawl.
One of them turned around with an excited grin. "We have class, obviously. But today's different. Lu Jisu is going to be there!"
Urek's movement stilled for a fraction of a second.
"Lu Jisu?" he echoed, the name stirring a faint memory.
His roommates nodded eagerly. "Yeah, the school flower! She's also the vice president of the student council."
Urek leaned against the wall, arms crossing over his chest as he processed the information. His memory flickered, recalling a girl with an elegant yet distant demeanor. She had always been the subject of admiration among the students, but her cold personality made her seem untouchable.
A slow smirk spread across his lips.
"Ah…" he murmured, tilting his head slightly. "Her."
