Chapter 4: The Main Quest

Lucas's Pov

I stared at my smartphone; it was 6:04, and in a few minutes, I would reach my destination. Keeping the smartphone in my pocket, I looked around. Soon these faces would be filled with...

Wait...

Something was wrong, the soul essence around the air was slowly becoming denser and denser...

Something is trying to descend here.

At that moment, the train groaned as it was suddenly stopped.

kiiiiiikkkkk-!

Then a sound resounded in the air.

[The has identified the planet 8178.]

[Initiating the removal of ...]

I immediately stood up from my seat, my eyes widened in shock, and everyone around me was confused. That meant they heard that sound too, it meant I was not hallucinating the sound of the system... of the .

But what is this ?

My questions were answered in an instant when a figure materialised. I took a position to attack, but it was an augmented reality.

"What is this?"

Some people were terrified.

"A prank?"

"Is that Augmented Reality?"

A person with a good build moved towards it; his voice was deep and full of rage.

"Hey! Stop this shit. I am a cop; you will face consequences for your stupid pranks."

The being was covered in snow-white fur, its stature was equal to that of a young dwarf, and it would have the appearance of an angel if not for its two obsidian horns protruding from its head; the menacing flames flowing out of the eyes were making the figure overall look terrifying.

I didn't know what it was, but it was dangerous; it possessed vast amounts of soul essence, so much that its appearance had distorted the fabric of our reality. The figure opened its mouth to speak.

[#!&*&&^%%%##@!!!]

People took a step back.

The words were in a different language, making the people take a step back. The figure sighed and opened its mouth again.

[Ah, Ah. I hate this European language data, so intricate.]

People who had not said anything now gained a little confidence, as the figure in front of them was speaking in a familiar language.

Many of them were a little mad, their precious time was getting wasted after all, these fools were playing with their lives right now, not that it mattered much to me, they do their own thing, I do mine.

I stared at the people creating a ruckus, shouting at the augmented reality, which seemed to be aware of their presence. I could see a vein bulging on whatever it was, their head, I suppose.

Things are surely going to get dangerous.

And it did, the figure snapped, revealing its ferocious teeth and let out a venomous and cracked snarl, and its presence seemed to become heavier.

[It seems like... living a free life has made you filthy beings too arrogant, huh? Here is a little gift for those who were barking.]

In an instant, the people who were barking... I mean, shouting at the figure had their heads blown up.

This is a little... dangerous. Sweat formed on my forehead.

Some people were terrified with fear, some cried, and some just fainted from seeing the blood.

[Now now... don't cry, not that it matters to me that much, to be honest.]

The figure stopped for a moment, enough for other fools to enter another conversation with the being in front of them.

I wouldn't have dared to speak a word in front of this abomination, whose level is equal to a proficient transcendent constellation, a realm that can affect the laws of realities with its powers if I were this powerless.

But these fools were daring enough to do this, humanity's future is bleak. Damn... here I wanted to protect these buffoons, let's just them... honestly it was interesting how good this conversation would go.

People arrived in front of the figure.

"You want money? I can give you as much as you want, just let me go."

A young scapegoat wearing good clothes appeared in front of him. His eyes were full of hope, a poisonous hope that told him that he would survive this.

[Ah, you are talking about that piece of paper...]

The flames in that beast's eyes burned furiously as if showing his arrogance, which he held in the words he said after crushing the young man's hope.

[I will let you live in one condition... If this piece of paper can allow you to buy me a whole universe. So tell me, can you? Because I can.]

The young man hesitated.

The figure was disappointed with the young man's answer.

[Ah, this is disappointing... As I have said earlier, you will live if you can do it. I am a man of my word, you see.]

With that, the figure snapped his little fingers, blowing the head of the scared young man, his death thus fulfilling his role of being the scapegoat and making the others think about their life for a moment.

[With this, the trash has been cleaned; now let's present the better trash to the constellations.]

He took a deep breath. This time, his voice was calm and gentle.

[This is a piece of advice for you people, those who had died earlier, it was their foolishness that made them meet their end, but in truth, they were the lucky ones. The people-the—constellations-the—beings who will watch you from my stream are gods of different realms, don't dare to do anything stupid that will make you their enemy, they are worse than me.]

Everyone was silent. Seeing their silence as an answer to understanding, the figure said in a neutral voice.

[Since everyone has understood my advice... I will introduce myself, I am Sylas, a streamer and a being known as .]

Then a small message materialized in front of everyone's eyes, making some of them even fall on their butts.

[Streamer has started the stream.]

[The constellations have entered.]

Another message popped.

[Initiating the main quest.]

Grey's Pov

So this is what has happened till now...

A few stupid dumbasses came over to the Yaksa, Sylas. Using their small brains, they offered him some money. He probably had heard these things many times, so he blew off their heads without warning.

'What a badass.'

Then he gave a speech, opened his stream, and the constellation joined. As the author of this novel, the first main quest I wrote was a little brutal. I liked it personally, but that was when I lived in a normal reality.

If I knew this would happen, I would have tried to make it easier.

My novel was now a reality.

Letting out a small sigh, I took out a pen from my coat, waiting for the main quest to start. The message popped up, I wanted to start right away, but remembering the advice, I ran a go-through.

...

It was the same.

I sighed and looked at the people around me. By now, they all must have read the message, and everyone looked at each other with suspicion and fear. It was a good thing I had hidden the pen in the folded sleeves of my shirt.

They all hesitated, seeing no results. Sylas opened new windows in front of them, and it showed some known members of the European council lying dead, and some of them were fighting each other before their bodyguards brutally killed them and then each other.

Only one of them remained.

Wow, I did work a lot on making good-looking characters.

The second side character to be introduced in the novel is William Hendrick. A young man, 27 years old, working as a trained bodyguard for the president of the European Council, he had lustrous black hair and dark brown eyes, with a height of 6 feet.

Overall, he was very handsome compared to many characters in terms of beauty in the novel.

But he wasn't the first side character of the novel to be introduced, it was a female, whom 'she' met after leaving the train.

This part wasn't written by me; this was the first variable in the story that I had written. My writing was pretty straightforward, to be honest. I went straight into action, not even developing the story.

Seeing the condition of their leaders, many people were left in despair; they all were now behaving like sheep who were aimless without a shepherd, except a few, who had tried to maintain their cool.

While people were crying, hesitating and frozen with fear, I was counting them and planning on how to kill them, and who to target first. There are ten people in total, and if it were before, there would be 30.

So, twenty foolish people have died already. That is nice... wait, why is this nice? It is easier dumbass.

I inwardly smiled as I spotted my first target.

It was the physically strongest in the cabin who was distracted right now. The man was still staring at the translucent windows in which the video of the main quest in different areas was playing.

I moved forward normally, staring at the window, so everyone thought I was moving closer to get a good look, making them lower their guards a little. I stood a little behind the man, and he was not aware of my presence. I was going to make my move, but the sounds of people dying came from both the next cabin and the previous cabin, the latter one for the fact.

People became more helpless and lowered their guard.

"Everyone block the door, don't let anyone in."

Someone shouted and moved toward the door to block it. As soon as they touched it, they were thrown back by some invisible force.

A message popped up in front of everyone.

[Participants are not allowed any sort of access to the carriage]

"What is this?"

They were all distracted, and this was my opportunity. I took the pen out and held it in my right hand. In a swift moment, I was behind the man. Straining the muscles in my right arm, I struck the pen in the person's neck.

Since I didn't know where exactly the vital nerve of a person is, I resorted to a cruel method. Using my left hand, I grabbed the man by his long enough hair and pulled him backwards.

My right hand pushed forward, creating unequal forces that caused his neck muscles and skin to tear. He wasn't immediately aware attack. Not long before, I started to tear his neck and make his blood gush out.

He let out an inhuman cry of pain. Before he could do anything, I forced my arms with more power, and in an instant, the pen struck inside his neck and was out, sullied with his blood.

The man was silent, his eyes were blank, his neck was torn open with blood, and his muscles were visible.

The man was dead.

I stared at my hands, which were covered in blood.

Letting out a sigh, I wiped the blood off, using the man's clothes before letting go of his head, making him drop. The body was lying on the platform, and blood was still flowing out of it, reaching my shoes.

Taking the loose tie off my neck, I opened it and wrapped it around my hand holding the pen, making sure it didn't go anywhere.

I looked at the people, and they were terrified and cowering in fear. Sylas was nowhere to be seen.

My eyes turned colder and merciless.

"That's one down..."

In another cabin, Lucas was sitting on a mountain of corpses of people. Staring at the messages, he sighed.

Everything is different now...

Lucas realised that this world wasn't his...

His last regression had caused an inexplicable variable in this life.
