In a dimly lit chamber, deep beneath the Freedom Association's headquarters, the Harlequin Alliance gathered around a large, round table made of obsidian-black stone. The faint glow of enchanted runes embedded in the table cast an eerie light across their faces, making their twisted grins and bloodthirsty eyes look even more sinister.
At the head of the table sat Yuuki Kagurazaka, the Grandmaster of the Freedom Association and the true puppet master pulling the strings behind the Harlequin Alliance. His cold golden eyes gleamed with cunning as he leaned back in his chair, hands steepled calmly, observing the others with a calculating gaze.
To his right, Laplace, the eerie, carefree jester with his perpetual grin, idly flipped a coin between his fingers. His crimson eyes sparkled with mischief, but there was a glimmer of unpredictable malice lurking beneath his playful demeanor.
Across from him, Tear, the sadistic and cruel harlequin, reclined lazily, her sickly sweet smile masking the bloodlust in her gaze. She twirled a thin dagger between her fingers, her eyes glinting with violent glee.
Beside her sat Footman, the obese, round-faced clown, with his empty, soulless eyes and grotesque smile. He giggled softly, his fingers absently tracing patterns of blood on the table from the half-eaten, still-bleeding slab of meat before him.
The room was filled with a tense silence, the air heavy with malice.
Yuuki's calm voice finally broke the silence.
"Clayman failed." His tone was devoid of emotion, but his golden eyes narrowed coldly.
"Worse… he was erased from existence by Rimuru."
Laplace's grin widened, showing far too many teeth.
"Hehe~! Yep, that wimpy puppet got squashed like a bug. Shame, really. He was kinda fun to mess with!"
Tear rolled her eyes and scoffed.
"Fun? Please." Her voice was dripping with disdain.
"That moron was nothing more than a pawn. He couldn't even handle one of the new Demon Lords. How pathetic."
Yuuki's eyes narrowed, his tone turning cold.
"Pathetic or not, his death creates a problem for us. Rimuru is growing stronger… too strong."
The room fell silent again, the weight of Yuuki's words sinking in.
Footman's eyes gleamed hollowly as he spoke, his voice flat and lifeless.
"The Slime is becoming a threat, isn't he…?"
Yuuki's eyes flashed with dark determination.
"Yes. But Rimuru isn't the only problem. Tempest is becoming a political powerhouse, gaining allies and military strength at an alarming rate. Between Veldora's presence and Rimuru's newfound Demon Lord status, the balance of power is shifting in his favor. If we allow him to keep expanding, he'll be untouchable."
Tear's lips curled into a sinister smile.
"So what's the plan, boss? Do we kill him?" she purred sweetly, her eyes brimming with sadistic excitement.
Yuuki shook his head slowly, his voice calm but sharp.
"No… not yet. Rimuru is too powerful to confront directly. Even if we succeeded, the cost would be too high." He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, his golden eyes glimmering with malicious cunning.
"Instead, we'll attack from the shadows. We'll destabilize Tempest from within."
Laplace's eyes twinkled with delight, his grin stretching wider.
"Ohoho~! Ya gonna play the long game, huh? I like it! Sneaky, sneaky!"
Yuuki smirked faintly, his gaze icy and calculating.
"Exactly. We'll spread discontent. Sabotage alliances. Turn their friends into enemies. And when Rimuru is at his weakest…"
He clenched his fist, his voice barely a whisper.
"…we'll strike."
The Harlequins exchanged malicious glances, their cruel smiles widening.
Deep within the catacombs of the Holy Empire of Ruberios, in a grand hall of black marble, Granbell Rosso sat at the head of a long, ornate table, his eyes narrowed with cold calculation. His crimson robes pooled around him like flowing blood, and his ancient, piercing gaze burned with a dark and unyielding resolve.
Beside him sat his daughter, Mariabell Rosso, the embodiment of cruelty with her delicate beauty masking the merciless monster beneath. She sipped delicately from a wine glass, her eyes dancing with wicked amusement.
The chamber was lit by flickering torches, casting long shadows on the ancient stone walls. The air was heavy with the scent of incense and malice.
Granbell's voice was low and deliberate, the weight of centuries of plotting behind it.
"Our first stage was a failure." His tone was bitter, his eyes narrowing.
"Hinata survived. Luminous remains on her throne. Rimuru only grew stronger from the incident."
Mariabell's lips curled into a cruel smile, but her eyes glimmered with disdain.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk…" she murmured, swirling her wine slowly.
"What a bother. We went through all that trouble, and those wretched pawns still couldn't eliminate the slime or the vampire…"
Granbell's eyes hardened, his hands clenching into fists.
"We can't afford any more missteps." His voice was low and sharp.
He leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with dark purpose.
"It's time for stage two."
Mariabell's eyes sparkled with twisted curiosity, her lips parting into a cruel smile.
"Oh? You mean…" she purred sweetly, leaning in slightly.
Granbell's eyes burned with cold fury.
"Yes. We will awaken the Chaos Dragon… and while it rampages, I will personally lead an attack on Ruberios." His voice was filled with venom.
"During the chaos, we'll infiltrate the depths of Luminous' castle… and steal the body hidden in her sanctum."
Mariabell's eyes widened slightly, intrigued.
"Oh? A corpse? Hmm… and what makes this body so special?" she asked, her fingers trailing idly along the rim of her glass.
Granbell's eyes gleamed with dark satisfaction.
"It is no ordinary corpse, my dear…" he said, his voice brimming with malicious glee.
"It radiates a power unlike anything I've ever sensed… pure, unbridled energy. Enough to rival even Luminous herself. It will be the perfect weapon."
What Granbell and Mariabell did not know, however, was that the body they sought was none other than Chloe Aubert, the Hero sealed in stasis, preserved in Luminous' sanctuary. They were unaware of her identity or the unimaginable power she possessed, but they could sense the dormant force emanating from her body.
Mariabell's lips curled into a delighted smile, her eyes glimmering with sadistic pleasure.
"Oh… how marvelous. The mighty vampire will fall, and her greatest treasure will be ours."
Granbell's expression hardened, his eyes flashing with ruthless determination.
"Luminous will perish. Ruberios will burn. And with this power in our grasp… the balance of the Cardinal World will be ours to control."
The two raised their glasses, their eyes gleaming with malice, their cruel laughter echoing through the darkened halls as the storm of treachery prepared to descend upon Ruberios.
While Yuuya, Velzard, and Guy enjoyed their battles at the Ice Continent, and Tempest continued to grow in power, Yuuki's schemes and the Rosso family's sinister plan crept closer.
Unseen and unknown to both factions, Yuuya Tenjou, the golden-eyed monster who could turn their entire world upside down, remained the hidden force they had yet to encounter. And when their paths eventually crossed… their worlds would be shattered beyond recognition.
