126. Ghost-man

The Athamana team watched Teveli's duel from the stands with concern. Unlike the usual situation before, the boy now had to fight a much more serious fight with his opponent. At first, they didn't even think that anything bad could happen, but then the water mage started to get angry. It was as if he really wanted to finish off their comrade.

"Boss. This won't end well." Suk's hands clenched into fists when Teveli flew so high that even the sight of him touching the ground was painful.

"Why don't they stop it already?" Citar grumbled.

"Uncle Tete can't go in after the last time. They don't want anyone else to die." Rahul said grumpily.

"If they don't stop him, Tev will die." Benkó also noted.

"Athamanas!" At Razvan's words, the team looked at him as one. "Let's go!" He gave the order, causing the team to start moving towards the arena in a neat line. In the corridor, where they no longer had to pay attention to the other spectators, they started running. So they entered the arena through the huge door almost simultaneously.

"We are in a protective barrier." Suk blinked. "I don't know who pulled it up." He added, when Razvan looked at him questioningly.

However, before any of them could say anything, their attention was drawn to the sight in front of them. Teveli stood up, leaning against the wall, Kele stood next to him, and in front of them, the hegin's opponent lay motionless with his face in the sand. First a boot appeared on the dead man's back, then the figure of a ghost.

"Seriously? What was so difficult about this?" The figure that came out of nowhere spoke.

"How did you do that?" Kele blinked.

"It was nothing, I didn't even have to try." The new figure waved and simply stepped over the corpse, then bowed to Teveli. "Mission accomplished." He grinned evilly.

"You shouldn't have killed him." The Tele boy grumbled, even if he was now strangely afraid of the ghost he recognized as a clown, but with his words he managed to make the new figure blink.

"No? But I thought we said that you only call if there was a really big problem." The ghost put one hand on his hip while scratching his head with the other.

"That doesn't mean you have to kill him." Teveli grimaced.

"It was a problem, I always solved my problems this way."'The strange ghost shrugged.

"That's how you solved your problems, huh? You never did anything but sleep all day, Kamu." Kele folded his black-spotted arms in front of him, hoping that would calm himself down a little.

"And have you ever seen me having trouble?" Kamu grinned, and when the other shook his head he continued. "Exactly, brother." He chuckled. "That bastard really got you." Kamu suddenly stood in front of Teveli and looked at his wounds. "I won't be able to help you like this." He held his chin, then looked back at the corpse. "Maybe..." He slowly grinned.

"Kamu, what are you doing?" Kele asked, but his brother didn't even pay attention to him as he went back to the corpse, crouched down next to it and turned it onto its back.

"Not bad. I left it all intact." The crouching ghost muttered under his breath, then took the dead man's chin and looked into his eyes. "You may have caused it all, but now you might be of use to me. Give it to me." The ghost grinned broadly.

Then suddenly his form began to fade until he disappeared completely. The corpse lying on the ground remained still for a moment, then began to shake. His bones lengthened, his skin color changed, his hair became shorter, and finally his clothes transformed before everyone's eyes. As the pale green clothes fell to the ground with a soft rustle, the corpse quickly sat up and took a deep breath.

"By the ghosts, I haven't breathed fresh air in about a hundred years." The figure who now resembled Kamu spoke, and then opened his eyes, which were shining a hazel brown. However, before he could do anything else, he began to blink violently, raised his right hand and clenched it into a fist, then released his fingers. "Oh, look at that, half-demon. I didn't know I could possess such a powerful being. If I had known it was so simple, I would have tried sooner." He noted before he stood up and dusted himself off.

"How?" Kele gaped.

"Long story." Kamu waved, then stepped in front of Teveli and with one movement put his shoulder back in place. As a result, the Tele boy screamed, but when the ghost that had become human drew a healing magic circle on his left arm, all his pain went away. "Dad's healing circle is still the strongest." The ghost said satisfied, then clapped his hands on his hips.

"Dad was the best at this." Kele agreed, with a sad smile on his face.

"Well, now that we're done with that, we ca..." Here Kamu's eyes widened and he slowly turned towards the side of the arena where the Athamana team was watching the events with wide eyes.

"Tev, who is that?" Suk pointed to the ghost-man.

"The hungry ghost of the Koál tribe, Kamu. The ghost I really have a contract with." Teveli said in a serious voice, but contrary to what he expected, the ghost in question was still standing motionless and staring at the Athamanas. "Hey, bastard. What was that just now?" Teveli demanded, but Kamu, as if he hadn't even heard him being called, looked at him.

The ghost-man's demeanor changed immediately, the pompous confidence disappeared and in the blink of an eye the man itself was in front of Razvan, where, as was customary before the great leaders, he knelt down on one knee with his head bowed. One of his hands was clenched into a fist, and with the other he clutched his knee, as if his life depended on it and his limbs even began to tremble slightly. Then he suddenly took a deep breath and spoke.

"Forgive me, please. Have mercy. I am truly sorry, Lord. Please have mercy on this innocent body and the unfortunate soul within it. I don't want to die yet. I just got it and it's never been this strong. I mean, if you don't like it, it doesn't matter. But please, I beg you, just thin..."

"Get a grip on yourself, Kamu, by the ghosts. You're making a fool of yourself." Razvan interrupted before he could continue his plea.

"He doesn't need to do that, he's always been like that. You're lucky he remembers and the team already knows." Etele appeared at Razvan's side, right next to Rahul.

"Dad?" Two people blinked at Etele at the same time.

"Hello, kids." He nodded, causing Kamu to sit on his heels.

"Didn't you say you only had one son?" Rahul blinked suspiciously at Etele.

"You saw Laik. They had talent, we took them in with the Witch." Svihák explained.

"I don't understand this." Kamu muttered blinking. "My brother said you should have been reborn a long time ago."

"As if it matters to me what that worthless son of mine thinks." Etele shrugged, then put his arms around Rahul. "At least this way I got to know him. Twins, this is my grandson Rahul. And the others are his friends." He said happily, whereupon the two brother ghost looked at Rahul at the same time.

"Oh." The kneeling ghost-man sighed, then nodded. "Hello everyone, I'm Kamu, and he's my twin brother Kele." He pointed towards the one mentioned. "We're Teveli's ghosts." He said happily again.

"We saw that. But now you could also explain how it's possible that I'm currently able to cut your throat." Razvan folded his arms in front of him.

"It's a long story and, by the way, not something that sould be told in a place like this." Kamu sighed again, then slowly stood up. "Come on. Let's go to a place where no one will bother us." He turned away from the people in the arena and headed towards an exit, as if he knew where he had to go.
