Chapter 7

The man before me, with his feigned sincerity, was truly ridiculous and laughable.

Earlier, he had asked me to drink on Jade's behalf, and now he was the one concerned about my safety while drinking.

For a moment, I didn't know which one was the real Donavan.

As he stepped forward, I retreated another step, maintaining my distance from him.

"Don't forget what I said, it's over between us."

Noticing my aloofness, Donavan couldn't help but frown.

"Some things are better left unsaid. Don't make this too awkward, or it'll be hard for everyone to end this gracefully."

Did he still think I was just making a scene?

I really underestimated his self-importance.

Seeing that I didn't respond, he finally realized how harsh his tone had been.

He quickly adjusted his mood, his voice becoming gentle:

"I swear, there's really nothing between Jade and me."

"And I've explained that the video from the dance that day, I deliberately let you see it. I was just angry at the moment."
