Chapter 6

"Dashiell would be grateful for this in the afterlife."

I picked up the urn, my face cold and expressionless.

Tears spilled from my eyes.

"Vivienne, even now, all you care about is the money in my pocket."

"Sunshine is dead! She died of kidney failure because we couldn't afford the surgery."

"Killed by the mother she loved most!"

Hearing my words, Vivienne's face darkened.

She warned, "Tom, you're going too far."

"I've put up with you for a long time."

"If you have any issues with me, you can take it out on me directly."

"Sunshine was your child too. How can you joke about her life and curse her like this?"

I opened the urn lid to show her, feeling a twisted sense of revenge growing inside me.

"Look, these are your daughter's ashes."

"I took her to be cremated in the east side of town last night."

"Feel it. It's still warm."

Feeling the temperature of the box, she froze in shock.

She glanced at it, trembling slightly.
