Chapter 57: Just say goodbye.
STANDING ON THE treehouse rooftop, Nigel waited for Pete to start their day of training. Every moment that passed felt like they were inching closer to Pete quitting. It wasn’t so much that the royal lost day after day—it was more that the alien simply didn’t look healthy.
Behind him, he heard Pete’s familiar, somewhat dragging steps climbing onto the roof and the soft thud of the bloke standing nearby. Nigel turned, his gaze sharp, eyeing the alien’s form.
The royal was as gray as the bruised clouds overhead, and Nigel hated the change. He loathed seeing that once bright, vibrant blue skin become muted, as gloomy and lifeless as the rest of Umicore Prime. A thin film of dirt and moisture from the elements coated him, even though the chap often cleaned himself in the shower.
Umicore Prince had not only taken the sparkle from Pete’s eyes but also robbed the bloke of being clean and having that touchable and silky blue skin.
