Yoongi's wolf was restless tonight.
The unease had been creeping up on him all day, a feeling he couldn't quite place. It wasn't the usual anxiety he felt when trying to blend in with humans—it was deeper, primal, something his wolf was trying to tell him.
Unable to sit still, he decided to take a stroll through the city, letting the cool night air calm his nerves. The streets were quiet, the occasional car passing by, but the bustling energy of Seoul had mostly died down at this hour. His sharp senses were always on high alert, scanning his surroundings, but tonight, something felt off.
Then, he heard it.
A cry for help.
Yoongi's entire body tensed. The voice wasn't human, at least not entirely. There was something familiar, something that made his wolf growl lowly in response. His head snapped toward the direction of the sound, and before he knew it, his feet were already moving.
Then, he caught it—
An alluring scent.
His wolf snarled in recognition, his instincts screaming at him. Mate.
Yoongi's pupils dilated as his body moved on its own. His steps were quick, precise, his heart pounding in his chest. The scent grew stronger, pulling him like a lifeline. His mate was close, but they were in trouble.
He turned a corner and his eyes locked onto the scene before him.
A group of drunk, filthy humans surrounded a trembling figure, their disgusting hands reaching out to grab the delicate omega trapped between them. The scent of fear and desperation clung to the air, but beneath it all, Yoongi could smell it—the intoxicating, irreplaceable scent of his mate.
Jimin.
His wolf snapped.
A feral snarl ripped from Yoongi's throat, his eyes glowing a deep gold as he let his instincts take over. In a blur of movement, he was on them, his hands latching onto the nearest human and snapping his neck with ease. The others barely had time to react before he tore through them, his claws raking through flesh, bones breaking under his brutal strength.
Screams filled the alley, but they were short-lived.
One by one, they fell, until only their bloodied bodies remained.
Yoongi stood in the middle of the carnage, his breathing heavy, chest rising and falling with the remnants of his rage. His wolf was still in control, eyes glowing, fangs bared, instincts demanding to claim and protect what was his.
His head snapped toward Jimin, who stood frozen against the wall, his body still trembling from fear and shock.
Yoongi inhaled sharply, the scent of those filthy humans still clinging to his mate. A deep, guttural growl rumbled from his chest as he stepped forward, his possessiveness taking over.
"Mine." The word was a low, animalistic snarl.
Jimin flinched slightly but didn't run. His own wolf was crying in his head, calling out in relief, recognizing their mate, but the fear from the attack still lingered in his wide eyes.
Yoongi took another step, his hands clenching into fists, his scent pouring out aggressively to drown out the disgusting stench left by those filthy creatures.
"Mine." He growled again, sharper this time, his eyes glowing brighter.
Jimin whimpered softly, his body reacting instinctively to the dominance in Yoongi's tone. He was still in shock, but a strange warmth spread through his chest at the word. His mate. He had finally found his mate.
Yoongi slowly reached out, his fingers brushing against Jimin's cheek, and the moment their skin touched, something inside him snapped into place. His wolf howled in satisfaction, and for the first time in his life, Yoongi felt truly complete.
Once he was certain that his mate was unharmed, Yoongi took a shaky breath and forced himself to step back, allowing his human side to regain control. His glowing eyes dimmed, his claws retracted, and the dangerous aura around him softened slightly.
Jimin was still looking at him, his lips slightly parted, his wolf clearly fighting to take over and submit to their mate. But Yoongi wasn't ready for that—not yet.
He swallowed hard, his voice lower now but still firm. "You're safe now. No one will ever touch you again."
Jimin nodded slowly, finally breathing properly, his body relaxing just a little.
Yoongi exhaled deeply and glanced at the mess around them. They needed to leave before someone found them. He turned back to Jimin, his expression softening as he reached for his hand.
"Come with me," he murmured. "We have a lot to talk about."
And just like that, Jimin placed his trembling hand into Yoongi's, his heart hammering in his chest.
Fate had finally brought them together.
