Chapter 14: A Fated Encounter

Yoongi carried Jimin effortlessly through the quiet streets, his wolf still on edge from the earlier encounter. His mate—his mate—had been in danger, surrounded by those filthy humans. The scent of fear still lingered around Jimin, mixed with the intoxicating aroma that had immediately triggered Yoongi's instincts.

He wasn't sure why fate had chosen this moment, but he wasn't going to let Jimin go.

Reaching his apartment, Yoongi kicked the door shut behind him and carefully placed Jimin on the couch. The omega looked exhausted, his body still trembling slightly. Yoongi's jaw tightened as he took a deep breath, suppressing the possessive growl rising in his chest.

"What the hell were you doing out there alone at this hour?" Yoongi demanded, his voice harsher than he intended.

Jimin flinched at the tone but quickly recovered. "I—I had to come here. It was important."

Yoongi narrowed his eyes, studying the omega. "Important enough to risk your life?"

Jimin swallowed, hesitating for a second before nodding. "Yes."

Yoongi exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. His wolf was still restless, demanding he claim and protect his mate properly. But something caught his eye—a faint mark on Jimin's neck.

His eyes darkened.

A mate mark.

Range surged through him instantly. His wolf let out a low growl, possessiveness clouding his thoughts. "Who marked you?"

Jimin stiffened at the question but met Yoongi's gaze steadily. "My mate."

Yoongi clenched his fists. His wolf was howling in protest, rejecting the very idea that someone else had already laid a claim on what was meant to be his. "Who?" he demanded.

Jimin took a deep breath before answering. "Jung Hoseok."

Yoongi's eyes flickered with realization. "The beta in charge of security?"

Jimin nodded. "Yes. He's my mate, and I love him."

Yoongi's wolf whimpered in frustration, but Yoongi forced himself to calm down. He had heard of cases where wolves found a second mate, but it was rare. Yet, the pull he felt toward Jimin was undeniable.

"I see," Yoongi said after a moment. His voice was calmer now, though his heart still thundered in his chest. "Why are you here, Jimin? Why would Hoseok let you come alone?"

Jimin's expression darkened. "He didn't. I left on my own. Our pack is in danger, Yoongi. Wolves have been going missing, and we found two dead bodies in the forest. I was sent to warn our Luna and Alpha."

Yoongi's expression shifted immediately. "Taehyung and Jungkook."

Jimin's eyes widened in surprise. "You know?"

A small smirk played on Yoongi's lips. "I do. I've been keeping an eye on them for a while now."

Jimin exhaled in relief. "Then… you'll take me to them?"

Yoongi nodded. "First thing in the morning. You're too exhausted to go anywhere right now." He eyed Jimin carefully. "But know this—I don't care if you already have a mate. My wolf has recognized you as mine, and I'm not going to ignore that."

Jimin shivered at the intensity in Yoongi's voice, but he stayed silent. He had too much to deal with already. Right now, he needed to focus on his mission.

Tomorrow, he would meet Taehyung and Jungkook.

And nothing would be the same after that.
