The morning sun peeked over the towering skyline of Seoul, casting a golden hue over the city as the employees of Kim Enterprises moved about, preparing for another workday. Inside the massive office building, Jungkook sat at his desk, fingers idly tapping against the polished surface, lost in his thoughts.
The last encounter with Taehyung was different—Taehyung's unsettling behavior. There was something off about the way Taehyung had looked at him lately, as if he were planning something, and Jungkook wasn't sure if he liked it.
A soft knock on his door pulled him from his daze. He straightened up just as Yoongi entered, a knowing smirk on his lips.
"You look like hell," Yoongi remarked, sitting on the edge of Jungkook's desk.
Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Thanks for the observation. Anything else you want to add?"
Yoongi chuckled. "Actually, yes. There's someone waiting for you in the break room."
Jungkook frowned. "Who?"
"An omega. Your kind."
Jungkook's eyes widened slightly, his heartbeat quickening. He didn't need to ask—it was Jimin.
Without another word, he stood up, ignoring the way Yoongi's smirk deepened as he practically rushed out of the office.
The Break Room
Jungkook stepped into the break room, his sharp gaze immediately locking onto a familiar figure standing near the window, clutching a cup of coffee with both hands.
Jimin.
The omega turned at the sound of the door, his doe eyes widening as they landed on Jungkook. The cup in his hands trembled slightly before he quickly set it down, rushing toward him.
"Jungkook!" Jimin's voice was filled with relief as he threw his arms around him.
Jungkook hesitated for a second before wrapping his arms around Jimin, inhaling his familiar scent. Home. It had been so long since he had felt something this close to it.
"I can't believe I finally found you," Jimin murmured, pulling back slightly to look at him. "We've been searching for so long. The pack… everyone's worried."
Jungkook sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know… but I had to be here. I had to stay close to him."
Jimin's gaze softened with understanding. "Taehyung."
Jungkook nodded. "He's starting to change, Jimin. I don't know if it's his wolf waking up or something else, but he's—he's dangerous. And yet, I…"
"You still love him," Jimin finished quietly.
Jungkook clenched his jaw. "It's more than love. It's fate. I can't let him slip away. Not again."
Jimin took a deep breath. "That's why I came here, Jungkook. There's trouble back home. Wolves are disappearing. Hoseok found dead bodies in the forest. We think the trueblood alpha's followers are getting bolder. Namjoon and Jin are worried."
Jungkook stiffened. The trueblood alpha. The very reason their kind lived in fear. The very reason Taehyung had died in his past life.
"And what do they want me to do?" Jungkook asked, though he already knew the answer.
"They need their Luna back," Jimin whispered. "They need their alpha. They need Taehyung."
Jungkook exhaled sharply, his hands balling into fists. He had waited for this moment, prepared for it even, but hearing it now—it made everything feel too real.
"Then we have no choice," he muttered. "It's time to wake him up."
Jimin nodded, determination flashing in his eyes. "Then let's do it together."
And just like that, the pieces were set in motion.
The game had officially begun.
Taehyung's Office
Across the building, in the highest office of Kim Enterprises, Taehyung sat at his desk, a cold smirk playing on his lips as he listened intently through the hidden microphone embedded in his ring. His fingers drummed against the armrest of his chair as every single word Jungkook and Jimin exchanged flowed through the small earpiece in his ear.
"They need Taehyung."
Taehyung chuckled darkly, swirling the whiskey in his glass. So Jungkook wanted to wake him up? He wanted to make him remember?
How amusing.
Taehyung leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable as he whispered to himself, "Let's see how long you can play this game, Jungkook… because I've already started playing mine."
