Chapter 2: Auroria

Kiyoshi followed Sam through a forest until they reached the entrance of a cave. Inside, the air was cooler, damp, and still. A small camp had been set up—a campfire flickering in the center, a chest nearby, and a table with a chair under a mounted torch.

"Feel free to make yourself at home," Sam said, gesturing toward the chair.

Kiyoshi nodded and sat down, the firelight casting long shadows on the cave walls. He exhaled slowly, still trying to process everything.

Sam broke the silence.

"You need to be careful when you go out. There are a lot of monsters lurking around, especially at night."

"Where... where am I? What is this world?"

Sam stared into the fire.

"You're in Auroria—the realm where light and dark meet."

Kiyoshi's eyes narrowed.

"Auroria...? This really is like the game... but how did I get here?"

His thoughts raced. Nothing made sense. He had been playing the game, then… nothing.

"Where are the other np—... people?" he asked.

Sam turned to him.

"We got separated. I don't know where the others are, but I can contact them eventually."

"Why are you by yourself?"

"We were searching for a place to settle down," Sam explained. "Until we find a permanent location, we need to stay separated."

Kiyoshi leaned back, thinking hard.

"I need to build a house for them... then I can access their shops and services. But first, I need to gather equipment to survive."

His thoughts darkened.

"That slime hit me hard. I lost so much HP... This is definitely Master Mode. Physical attacks could kill me instantly. Wait—do I respawn if I die?"

He clenched his fists.

"No. I can't think about that now. First, I need items."

Kiyoshi looked up.

"Sam, do you have extra torches?"

Sam nodded.

"Yes, in the chest over there. Where do you plan to go?"

"I'm going to mine and grab some materials."

"Alright. I'll stay here and guard the base. Be careful out there," Sam said.

Kiyoshi smiled.

"Don't worry. I'm strong."

As he walked deeper into the cave, torch in hand, a surge of determination filled him.

"I can put my knowledge and skills to full use. I've beaten this game so many times—I know how to survive."

The darkness deepened around him, the flicker of his torch casting eerie shadows on the stone walls.

"I'm coming for you again... Dark Sovereign."
