Chapter 11: The Tacit Understanding Between a Shameless Master and Disciple Plotting Outside the Hall

Han Li had no idea about the farce that had unfolded in Notting City, but at this moment, he wasn't feeling great.

At first, being carried into the sky by his teacher had been exhilarating. Humans had always longed for the skies, and this was a completely new experience for him. Unlike his past life, where flying was only possible with technology, he was now soaring through the air unaided.

Even if he was just being carried, it was enough to make him marvel at the possibilities because this meant that one day, he too could fly freely.

Guang Ling was considerate enough to use his soul power to form a protective barrier around Han Li and Xiu'er, allowing them to enjoy the view without any discomfort.

But as time passed, the thrill faded.

Once he grew tired of the scenery below, boredom set in.

Guang Ling, however, assumed he was just a child and didn't bother asking for his opinion especially when it came to traveling. To him, this was simply a matter of efficiency.

He was eager to return to Spirit City to show off his new disciple, and his gains from this trip were significant. He had already decided that as soon as he settled Han Li in, he would go straight into seclusion.

His path to further advancement was now within reach, and he could hardly wait.

If he hadn't just taken in a disciple, he might have abandoned Han Li on the spot to pursue his breakthrough immediately.

Thus, Guang Ling's return speed was even faster than his departure.

Other than stopping for meals and bathroom breaks, he flew at full speed toward Spirit City.

As for Han Li and Xiu'er's discomfort?

Guang Ling didn't consider it an issue.

It's just a little boredom. If they can't even handle this, how can they endure the rigorous training of a Spirit Master?

And so, in just over a day, Guang Ling carried the two back to Spirit City.

A short distance from the city gates, he finally landed.

Seeing that the two children were still somewhat fatigued, Guang Ling used his soul power to briefly alleviate their physical exhaustion before explaining, "Unless there are special circumstances, no one regardless of their status is allowed to fly over Spirit City, except for law enforcement personnel."

With their exhaustion momentarily lifted, Han Li and Xiu'er turned their attention to the grand city before them.

The sheer scale of Spirit City temporarily suppressed their fatigue.

Han Li handled it well his past life's experiences and mental preparation kept him composed.

Xiu'er, on the other hand, had never left her village except for her time in Notting City.

Now, faced with the sheer magnificence of Spirit City, she felt both awe and anxiety.

This was her new home.

A mix of apprehension and excitement filled her heart, but she couldn't help clinging to Han Li's arm for reassurance.

Guang Ling chuckled at the sight and took their hands, leading them into the city.

Nothing dramatic happened they entered without issue.

As they walked toward the Worship Hall, Guang Ling explained the basic layout of Spirit City, hoping to ease the children's anxiety.

When they arrived at a massive architectural complex, he finally stopped, gesturing toward the towering buildings.

"This is the Spirit Temple. From now on, you both belong to the Worship Hall remember that."

After a brief explanation of common knowledge, Guang Ling didn't go into further detail.

He didn't mention anything about internal factions such matters weren't for children to worry about.

Han Li understood the implications but had no intention of getting involved.

He simply nodded.

Along the way, numerous law enforcement officers saluted Guang Ling while curiously eyeing Han Li and Xiu'er, wondering about their identities.

When they reached the foot of the mountain leading to the Worship Hall, Guang Ling glanced at the long flight of stairs leading up.

After considering for a moment, he once again took the children's hands, and with a burst of soul power, they arrived at the summit within seconds.

Han Li opened his eyes and was met with a massive plaza.

At its center stood a towering angel statue, over ten meters high, holding a sacred sword aloft.

Its radiant white light spread in all directions, illuminating the surrounding pristine marble structures adorned with gold.

The sheer sanctity of the scene made one instinctively want to kneel in reverence.

As soon as they appeared, a figure approached, bowing deeply to Guang Ling.

"Greetings, Fifth Worship."

Guang Ling nodded in acknowledgment before turning to the still dazed Xiu'er.

He gently patted her head and spoke softly, "Xiu'er, I'll be taking Han Li to meet the others. Why don't you go rest at your new residence?"

Xiu'er hesitated, stealing a glance at Guang Ling before looking at Han Li for reassurance.

Han Li grasped her hand and smiled.

"Sister Xiu'er, could you help set up my bed? You know my habits."

Xiu'er instinctively nodded.

Han Li was her source of security, and hearing his words settled her nerves.

"This is my disciple and his sister. Prepare a residence for them next to my estate."

Guang Ling instructed the attendant without hesitation.

"Yes, my lord."

The attendant, surprised by the high status of the guests, immediately put on a more respectful smile.

He was especially careful not to frighten the timid girl.

"Miss, please follow me."

Xiu'er initially wanted to correct him she was just Han Li's maid.

But realizing Guang Ling had spoken, she held her tongue.

She stole another glance at Han Li, who gave her an encouraging nod.

Taking a deep breath, she respectfully bowed to Guang Ling before following the attendant toward the residential area, occasionally looking back at Han Li.

Once she was out of sight, Guang Ling turned to his disciple and started toward the grandest palace in the complex.

"I'm taking you to meet the other Worship elders. Be respectful to the Grand Worship."

Then, lowering his voice conspiratorially, he added, "And stay sharp.

I'm still young I don't have much wealth. But the ones you're about to meet? They're all your senior uncles.

Even if they only give you scraps, it'll be more than enough."

Guang Ling, shameless as ever, saw no need to pretend when it was just the two of them.

His personality… was uncannily similar to Han Li's.

Han Li nodded vigorously.

He understood this was about collecting gifts.

Then, he glanced at Guang Ling with concern.

"But, Teacher, I don't even have a soul tool. How am I supposed to carry all these gifts?"

Guang Ling ruffled Han Li's hair roughly.

"You little brat, using my own tricks against me already?"

Still, he wasn't annoyed.

"Don't worry about it. I could give you a storage tool right now, but why settle for something basic?

Remember Fourth Worship, Xiong Shi Douluo. He's the one with the golden beard.

He has a soul tool that can store living beings and holds over a hundred cubic meters.

He barely uses it.

Just watch my lead later and play along.

By the time we're done, that storage tool will be yours."

Han Li smiled innocently but inwardly sighed.

As expected of my teacher.

Seeing his disciple so naturally fall into the same thought process, Guang Ling's grin widened.

As they neared the grand palace, Guang Ling's expression changed.

His laughter vanished, his demeanor turned cold, and his face carried a hint of irritation.

Without waiting for Han Li, he strode into the hall.

Oh? He's already started acting?

Han Li blinked.

Then, catching on quickly, he sprinted forward, his face adopting a serious look as he hurried after his teacher.
