Xiao Ting glared at her parents as they wheeled their luggage toward the door. "Where are you going?"
"To travel the world," they replied in unison, dressed in matching tropical outfits that screamed Hawaii vacation.
"You know I don't travel," she said with a wince, crossing her arms in frustration.
Her parents exchanged amused smiles. "But we do," Ling-er said with a playful drawl. "Unlike some people, we have lives."
"I have a life too!" Xiao Ting protested, puffing out her cheeks in indignation.
Jun scoffed. "If you call sitting in your room all day a life, then sure. You're a grown woman, Ting."
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Well, am I supposed to survive without you two? I can't even make my own rice!" Her voice wavered, and she looked close to tears.
Ling-er waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry. We brought you a caretaker."
Before Xiao Ting could respond, the most handsome devil she'd ever seen stepped into the house.
He was tall, with a commanding presence that seemed to fill the entire room. His sharp features and confident aura screamed danger.
His very presence was like a domain expansion, and Xiao Ting felt an overwhelming sense of panic as she gawked at him.
"You're leaving me alone in a house, for God knows how long, with a man?!" she shrieked, her voice going an octave higher.
