The sacred fire of the Qilin blazed continuously, melting the ice beneath them as they descended into the depths of the glacier. The ice quickly dissolved, and soon, the sky above them was gone, replaced by a pitch-black void.
They had reached the depths of the glacier.
The temperature here was freezing, with no sunlight—only endless darkness.
Li Jiu Feng's spiritual sense searched through the glacier, but he found nothing. The glacier had remained unchanged for a thousand years, and in such extreme temperatures, no life could survive. Naturally, there was no change.
The Qilin was also observing, using its fire to clear a path as they continued to descend. They had no idea how long they had been traveling when a massive explosion sounded beneath them. The ice layer beneath their feet shattered, and both Li Jiu Feng and the Qilin fell into a vacuum zone. Fortunately, both were top-tier experts and quickly stabilized themselves, looking around.
A sea of colors greeted their eyes!
This hidden vacuum zone deep within the glacier wasn't as dark as expected. Here, various fluorescent stones illuminated the surroundings, casting brilliant, dream-like colors throughout the space.
"Is it here?" Li Jiu Feng marveled at the sight and asked.
The Qilin nodded. "It's just ahead."
They proceeded together through the dazzling, colorful vacuum zone, dodging stalactites and crystal ice formations. After trekking for a while, they finally came across a magnificent palace, vast and seemingly boundless. The structure was slanted into the ice, with the rest of the building frozen and concealed, leaving only the grand entrance tightly closed.
"The Tomb of Fallen Immortals!" Li Jiu Feng's eyes narrowed as he studied the palace. He had heard of it before, but this was his first time seeing it in person.
As Li Jiu Feng observed, the Qilin excitedly approached the entrance and circled around it, calling out warmly, "Father, Mother, I'm back…"
The Qilin's voice echoed through the glacier—sorrowful, wistful, and filled with tears. In that moment, the sacred beast seemed no different than a child.
The tomb's doors remained shut, giving no response.
Li Jiu Feng stood quietly behind, not disturbing the Qilin.
After a while, the Qilin composed itself, taking a deep breath and gathering its emotions. It turned to Li Jiu Feng and said, "The doors of the Tomb of Fallen Immortals require tremendous strength to open. I can't do it alone. Please help me."
Li Jiu Feng nodded, positioning himself beside the Qilin. Together, they began to channel their strength.
Li Jiu Feng's power erupted in an instant as he performed a powerful strike. His attack slammed into the door with the force of a mountain.
Bang!!!
The resounding crash echoed through the glacier.
The Qilin also charged forward, its four hooves hitting the ground with immense force. The beast, known for its strength, collided with the door, sending a shockwave through the area.
Together, they used all their strength to push against the door.
Boom!
The glacier trembled as cracks appeared, and it seemed as though the ice would collapse due to their combined force. But neither Li Jiu Feng nor the Qilin paid any mind. They continued to pour all their energy into opening the door.
Li Jiu Feng's muscles bulged as he unleashed his full power. The God Demon Refining Body Technique activated, and the phantom of the god and demon in his dantian began to stir as well.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Li Jiu Feng's power grew exponentially, surpassing even the Qilin's strength.
He continued to push against the long-sealed door, which groaned under the pressure. It moved just slightly, making way for a narrow gap.
Both Li Jiu Feng and the Qilin were invigorated by the sight of progress. They immediately focused all their strength into it, pushing the door open little by little.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Each time the door shifted, a thunderous sound filled the air.
Finally, after an intense struggle, the entrance to the Tomb of Fallen Immortals opened enough for both of them to enter.
The Qilin looked at Li Jiu Feng with gratitude in its eyes. "Without your strength, I would never have been able to open this tomb in such a short time. Once we're inside, whatever you want, it's yours. I only want the remains of my parents."
Li Jiu Feng, panting slightly and feeling exhausted, asked, "What's inside the Tomb of Fallen Immortals?"
The Qilin smiled. "There are many treasures, like millennium-old elixirs, and the bodies of the hundreds of races from the Dimension Battlefield, along with their magical tools and techniques. I don't want any of it—all of it is yours."
Li Jiu Feng grinned. "Then I look forward to seeing what's inside."
After resting for a moment and recovering their strength, Li Jiu Feng and the Qilin turned toward the massive door, now cracked open, letting in a stream of radiant light.
At this moment, the Qilin led the way, with Li Jiu Feng following behind, as they entered the Tomb of Fallen Immortals.
Upon stepping inside, they were immediately confronted with enormous, frozen corpses. A hundred-foot-tall lizard-like beast, towering and powerful, its sharp fangs gleaming, with scales covering its body. It stared menacingly, though a long spear pierced its chest, the wound still fresh after many years, now frozen in place.
"This is a member of the Lizard Clan from the Dimension Battlefield. He was an elder who pursued my father, but was killed by the spear, which was left behind when the Tomb of Fallen Immortals fell to the mortal realm," the Qilin explained.
Li Jiu Feng nodded lightly, his gaze scanning the scene.
They came across a powerful, red-eyed wild bull, its body imposing. A large sword was embedded in its forehead, its death a tragic sight.
"This is a warrior from the Ancient Wild Bull Tribe, killed by my father with a single strike," the Qilin remarked, staring at the bull's body.
Li Jiu Feng continued to look around. The tomb contained numerous frozen corpses, some as large as giant beasts, exuding a majestic aura, while others were the size of butterflies, delicate and beautiful.
"This is a warrior from the Dream Butterfly Tribe. Their clan is known for making it impossible to distinguish between dreams and reality, causing mental chaos. They are truly terrifying," the Qilin said seriously.
Li Jiu Feng took note of this information and followed the Qilin deeper into the tomb, moving past the various corpses and heading toward the central area.
In the center, there were no more corpses. Instead, a single coffin stood in the middle, surrounded by beautifully etched symbols and images on the walls, adding to the tomb's mystique.
"Father, Mother…" The Qilin hurried toward the coffin, eager to open it.
Li Jiu Feng followed closely behind.
Bang!
As they approached, the Qilin had already opened the coffin.
Li Jiu Feng's eyes narrowed as he looked inside.
The coffin was empty.
