Chapter 40: The Second Relic Carving

Beneath the new world, the void shimmered, and a relic carving slowly appeared.

At first, the relic was faint and hard to make out, but after a few moments, its true form became clear.

Cui Jiufeng watched closely, focusing on the carving. It depicted a desolate scene: a person standing on a distant road, gazing into the horizon, with only their back visible. It was a scene of solitude, almost imperceptible unless one looked closely.

In the distance, the sky and earth stretched out, with a jagged cliff and the glow of a sunset—these elements came together to form the relic's image.

Doushen Wang furrowed his brow, confused. "What does this mean?"

He scanned the image from every angle but could make no sense of it.

Thinking it might be some profound doctrine, he focused all his energy, pouring his spiritual essence into the image, but still, he gained no insight.

Cui Jiufeng didn't answer. Instead, he continued to observe, his brows furrowing as he concentrated.

Initially, he too had thought it might be a relic of some great technique, but as he studied it further, he realized it was not. It was a representation of a desolate journey.

Though there were no battles or clear adversaries, Cui Jiufeng felt a deep sense of melancholy emanating from the image, almost as if it represented a hero at the end of their path, standing on the edge of the cliff, watching the sunset—like someone gazing at the end of their own life.

Sadness, frustration, regret, and anger all surged in his heart, making him feel a profound sorrow.

"You have gazed upon the relic and experienced an insight. Your comprehension of the Judgment Seven Techniques, the 'Breaking the Horizon,' has been activated."

Suddenly, a line of text appeared before him, snapping him out of the sorrowful trance.

"I… I was lost in this," Cui Jiufeng thought in shock. He realized that, just a moment ago, he had been dangerously close to losing himself in the emotion of the carving. He even started to entertain dark thoughts, thoughts of giving up—his mind had almost become consumed.

This was unusual.

His spirit and body advanced together, and his soul had long been refined to a level where no negative emotions should be able to affect him so easily.

Yet, just from looking at a relic for a moment, he had nearly fallen into despair.

Quickly retreating, he pulled himself away from the relic's influence. This was far too dangerous.

At the same time, he examined what he had just comprehended—the Judgment Seven Techniques, specifically the "Breaking the Horizon."

What was this technique?

Cui Jiufeng was very curious and decided to absorb the knowledge that had appeared in his mind.

He was shocked to realize that the "Breaking the Horizon" wasn't a technique at all—it was an immortal art, a creation of the Taiyuan Immortal, with immense power. Among all the techniques he had learned, this was the most powerful one yet.

Of course, he knew it wasn't the one with the greatest potential—many of his self-discovered techniques held even deeper potential.

Techniques like the "Chronicle of Time," "God and Demon Body Refining Method," and "Space Dao" all had infinite possibilities.

But still, this was a pleasant surprise. Cui Jiufeng had not expected to find such an immortal technique hidden in the relic.

He couldn't help but glance at Doushen Wang, wondering if he had understood anything from the carving.

Doushen Wang, on the other hand, was cupping his chin, his brow furrowed as he observed intently. But the more he looked, the more frustrated he became. Finally, he sighed in resignation.

"I can't make sense of it at all. I feel like there's something there, but it's all fragmented, nothing seems to come together," he muttered.

From this, Cui Jiufeng knew that Doushen Wang had not gained any insight.

"Did you understand anything?" Doushen Wang asked, turning to Cui Jiufeng.

Cui Jiufeng shook his head. "I feel the same as you. It's all too chaotic."

"Forget it, let's not waste time. Let's go in, or they'll get all the treasures first." Doushen Wang quickly turned toward the entrance to the new world, pulling Cui Jiufeng along.

This time, Cui Jiufeng didn't hesitate. He followed Doushen Wang, stepping through the void and entering the Taiyuan Immortal Mansion.

Boom!

As soon as they entered, the entrance to this small world slammed shut, and the entire new world shifted dramatically, disappearing from the real world.

Cui Jiufeng and Doushen Wang appeared on a mountain peak, both eyeing the now-closed entrance with heightened caution.

"Where are the others who came in earlier?" Doushen Wang asked curiously.

Cui Jiufeng extended his spiritual sense. Unlike the spatial battlefield, the space in this world was far denser, and his spiritual sense had difficulty penetrating it. He barely managed to extend it ten meters before it was blocked.

Furrowing his brow, Cui Jiufeng realized that ten meters of spiritual sense was almost useless here. He couldn't rely on it to examine his surroundings.

Looking around with his eyes, he saw a massive immortal mansion in the distance, glowing with brilliant light, surrounded by flowing energy that took the form of dragons, cranes, and mystical turtles, constantly shifting.

"That should be the true Taiyuan Immortal Mansion," Cui Jiufeng said.

Doushen Wang saw it too, excitement in his voice. "From a distance, this place looks magnificent!"

Just then, a voice boomed from ahead, tinged with impatience. "Hurry up and come over! The Taiyuan Immortal Mansion won't open without you."

The voice was clearly from the Golden Lion King, who was frustrated by Cui Jiufeng and Doushen Wang's delay.

"They're in such a hurry," Doushen Wang muttered, a playful look in his eyes. "Let them go ahead. We'll take our time and enjoy the view."

But in the next moment, Snow Maiden from the Holy Angel Clan spoke up. "Doushen Wang, hurry up. Let's open the true Taiyuan Immortal Mansion together and seize the treasures. It's a great opportunity for all of us."

Hearing her voice, Doushen Wang's expression quickly shifted. "Snow Maiden is right. We should explore this place and rise to the next level. Let's go!"

He immediately grabbed Cui Jiufeng, speeding toward the true Taiyuan Immortal Mansion.

When they arrived, the other young kings who had entered earlier were already there, waiting impatiently. Golden Lion King, in particular, was glaring at Doushen Wang, clearly angered by the earlier delay.

Doushen Wang ignored him, walking past the Golden Lion King, taking out his own key. "Let's not waste any more time. Let's open the Taiyuan Immortal Mansion."

Many people rolled their eyes, remembering who had wasted time earlier.

Cui Jiufeng obediently took out his two keys and activated them.

The ground shook as the long-sealed doors of the Taiyuan Immortal Mansion slowly began to open.

The moment a small crack appeared, a golden beam of light shot inside.

It was the Golden Lion King, rushing in first, determined to be the first to claim the treasures.

"Always rushing ahead. Isn't he just going to have to wait for me anyway?" Doushen Wang muttered.

But in the next instant, he transformed into a streak of azure light and shot into the Taiyuan Immortal Mansion.

Not just him—everyone followed suit, rushing into the mansion one after another.

In less than a second, Cui Jiufeng was the only one left standing outside.

He didn't rush in immediately, maintaining his own pace. He waited for the doors to fully open before stepping inside.

At that moment, a new relic carving appeared on the doors of the Taiyuan Immortal Mansion.
