Episode 54: The Invisible Pet Leash — Because Imaginary Friends Deserve Walks Too

The bell above the shop door jingled, and in walked a woman with the energy of someone who hadn't slept but was powered purely by caffeine and determination. She held her hand out in front of her like she was leading something on a leash — except, of course, there was nothing there.

Felix stared. Zira blinked twice, slowly.

"Uh… can we help you?" Felix asked cautiously.

The woman nodded earnestly. "Yes. I need a leash. For my pet."

She gestured to the empty space beside her.

Zira leaned over the counter. "You… don't seem to have a pet."

The woman gasped, offended. "How dare you! Puffles is very real." She reached down and patted the air. "Aren't you, Puffles?"

Felix exchanged a slow, concerned look with Zira.

"Right. Puffles," Felix said carefully. "What kind of pet is Puffles, exactly?"

The woman straightened proudly. "He's an Invisible Blink Ferret. Very rare. Very shy. He mostly exists on an emotional level, but he still needs his walks."

Zira stared, struggling to keep a straight face. "So you… want an invisible leash for your invisible pet?"

"Yes! But it also needs an invisible harness — and it should make him look cute. Like, extra cute. Even though no one can see him. He deserves that."

Felix tried to suppress a grin. "So, let me get this straight. You want a leash and harness that are invisible… and also fashionable for an invisible ferret that lives on an emotional level?"

The woman nodded enthusiastically.

Zira leaned closer to Felix and muttered, "I swear, if this works, I'm quitting and starting an invisible fashion line."

Felix smirked and grabbed his wand. "One Invisible Pet Leash with premium imaginary harness, coming right up."

The Unveiling of the Nothingness

After some creative enchantment (and Zira laughing so hard she had to leave the room twice), Felix presented the woman with… well, technically nothing.

"Here you go," he said, holding out an empty hand. "Leash, harness, and a touch of magical glamour for maximum cuteness."

The woman beamed. "Oh, Puffles is going to love this!"

She reached out, seemingly grasped the invisible leash, and tugged gently.

The air wobbled. Something tugged back.

Felix blinked. "Wait. Did that—"

Zira's eyes widened. "Did the nothing just pull back?!"

The woman smiled sweetly. "Puffles is excited. He loves new accessories."

Felix leaned in to whisper to Zira. "Did we just accidentally create an invisible pet?"

Zira whispered back, "I'm not sure, but if we did, we're charging extra."

The woman happily tossed a pouch of coins on the counter. "Thanks! Come on, Puffles — let's show everyone your new look!"

She strutted out, leash in hand, the air beside her… wobbling slightly.

Felix stared at the door for a long moment. "So... do we report this to someone? Or pretend it never happened?"

Zira shrugged. "Depends. How much do you think people would pay for invisible pets?"
