Chapter 3

"Isn't it just a breakup? I'm not a kid, what could happen?" I raised an eyebrow at her, reassuring her to leave without worries.

However, this was my first breakup. As I lay alone on the huge bed, tears started to flow uncontrollably, and I couldn't sleep all night.

The next day, I managed to toss myself into a high fever with a runny nose.

But I'm really not a kid. As soon as I felt my temperature rising, I immediately ordered fever-reducing medicine and breakfast while piling all of Xie Zixin's blankets onto the bed to sweat it out.

At that moment, the doorbell rang.

I thought it was the medicine delivery.

No, the medicine did arrive, but apart from that, there was also Xie Ziang.

He caught me with tissues stuffed in both nostrils and an embarrassingly red face.

Before I could react, he took my medicine anxiously asking, "You have a fever? The delivery guy couldn't reach you, so I brought it in."

"Yeah, thanks, little brother." I nodded and reached out to take the medicine and quickly go back to sleep.

The next second, his large palm suddenly pressed against my forehead, "Call me Ziang."

I felt a bit helpless and weakly called him, "Thank you, Ziang."

"Don't take the medicine yet, your temperature is too high. I'll take you to the hospital," Xie Ziang said after checking my temperature manually, then without a word, he walked into Xie Zixin's room, fetched a large coat, and draped it over my shoulders.

He bent down and carefully buttoned every single one for me. The distance between us was only a fist apart, our breaths vaguely mingling, giving me a strange feeling.

"I..." Just as I was about to refuse, he looked me straight in the eye, his brows slightly furrowed, and with an undeniable tone, he pleaded, "Let's go, I'll take you."

"Alright then." I nodded helplessly, though I found it odd. He used to listen to me so well when we were kids that even Xie Zixin said I was more like his real sister. I didn't know when he became so opinionated.

But I didn't expect that by "take," he meant carrying me princess-style all the way to the car, fastening my seatbelt, and speeding to the hospital.

When we got out, he wanted to carry me inside, but I waved him off.

I just had a fever, not a limp leg.

Seeing this, he simply walked alongside me, lightly supporting me.

I was so dizzy from the fever that I accidentally bumped into a couple. Bowing my head, I repeatedly apologized, but the girl persistently complained, "Ugh, Brother Wenbin! The new handbag you bought for me is going to have a dent because of her!"

"It's okay, it's okay, we'll make her pay for it anyway, there are hospital cameras," the man's voice made my pupils dilate, and I raised my head to look over directly.

The man before me was none other than Luo Wenbin, who had just broken up with me yesterday!

And the woman clutched tightly in his arms was also someone I knew: Jin Xiaomi, a model at Luo Wenbin's bridal shop!

I stared fiercely at their entwined hands, fingers tightly interlocked, feeling extremely nauseated.
