Chapter 3

Then my terrible alcohol tolerance got me drunk.

The next day, waking up in bed, I was still a bit confused.

Seems like even drunk, one can manage to climb into bed.

I wanted to say goodbye to the kind innkeeper who offered me advice.

But I couldn't find the innkeeper or the waiter anywhere.

I had no choice but to leave with my horse.

For the next two days, I watched the scenery and local customs along the road.

The fear in my heart slowly calmed down.

I didn't encounter any more petty thieves or dangerous beasts.

"Once a person's mindset broadens,"

"the world becomes beautiful."

Even my hemorrhage symptoms eased up, maybe I'll live a few days longer.

Riding the horse leisurely, I started talking to myself.

"Pfft."

Someone was snickering.

I looked around.

On this official road, there was only me and my horse.

There was absolutely no one else.

"It can't be a haunting in broad daylight, right!"

Startled by my own thought, I squeezed the horse's belly.

"Lightning, run fast!"

"Slow down, if I get lost, who will protect you then?"

Gu Yuzhi jumped over a few times and landed behind me.

Wrapping his arm around my waist, he shared the ride with me.

"Why is it you again!"

"You annoying pest!"

Gu Yuzhi tightened his grip, forcing my back against his chest.

"If it weren't for me protecting you all the way, Commandery Princess,"

"you wouldn't know how many times you'd have died."

"I don't need your help! Dying sooner or later, what difference does it make!"

"Hua Yue! Don't be ungrateful."

"What decent girl keeps talking about dying or not dying."

With Gu Yuzhi intruding on my farewell journey,

it turned into two people bickering all the way, and wasn't nice at all.

"Gu Yuzhi, if we don't reach the next village by sunset, we'll have to camp out."
