Chapter 3

Keen-eyed social media influencers had already set up cameras aimed at me, following behind as I knocked on the door of the suite where Estrella's family was staying.

Our parents were best friends, which is why our families had planned this vacation together.

Hearing my voice, the door quickly opened. It was Estrella's father.

The moment the door opened, I pretended to collapse on the ground, crying out loudly.

"Uncle, you need to find Estrella quickly! She... she..."

I deliberately exposed my swollen cheek, leaving my sentence unfinished to give the onlookers plenty of room for imagination.

Uncle Addison, at this point, paid no attention to the crowd. Given the difference in gender, he couldn't help me up, so he could only ask me with a face full of concern.

"Child, since when did you start speaking so haltingly? What happened to Estrella? Weren't you two out together? You're really worrying me to death here. Speak up quickly!"

Sobbing loudly, I cried out that Estrella had gone out to sea with some strange men. When I tried to stop her, I was slapped, and my phone was thrown into the sea. I had to wait for a taxi for a long time before I could rush back to get help, begging Uncle Addison to go find her quickly.

Seeing this, the taxi driver stepped forward to testify."I indeed picked up this lady by the seaside. That area is quite remote, very few people go there. You see, about the fare..."

Uncle Addison was thrown into complete disarray upon hearing this, anxiously stomping his feet on the spot.

I was so scared that I couldn't stop crying, shouting loudly that those two men clearly looked like bad news, and with the sea being so dangerous, he should quickly find a way to get help.

Uncle Addison saw the person holding a camera behind me and tried to cover my mouth, but was suddenly pushed away.

I looked up to see Dad looking at me with concern and worry.

The pain from my death in my previous life hadn't yet faded, and I hugged Dad and cried out genuinely.

Dad left a word about calling the police to search for the missing people, then hurriedly took me back to the suite and asked room service to send up some ice.

After hearing my account of what happened, he angrily slammed his fist on the table.

"There's no such thing as a free lunch in this world. Estrella was about to learn that the hard way."

As he said this, he called Mom, telling her to quickly bring Aunt Addison back.

After Mom and Aunt Addison returned, the four of us hurriedly rushed to the police station to file a report.

My keen eyes noticed that after our car pulled out, several tails immediately followed us.Little did we expect, after hearing the whole story from us.

The police said that since it was a deep-sea diving trip, there was no direct evidence suggesting Estrella had been harmed, so they couldn't dispatch officers.

Aunt Addison, upon hearing this, was so anxious she immediately ran out, intending to search for her daughter herself.

I called out to stop Aunt Addison, pointing towards a girl who had just walked in, soaking wet, disheveled, and covered in injuries.

I couldn't help but furrow my brow; she looked far more severely injured than in my previous life. The police officers rushed towards her, asking what had happened.

I shouted, "Estrella left with them!"

Hearing this, Aunt Addison nearly collapsed, stumbling over to shake the injured girl repeatedly, "Why are you alone? Where's my daughter? Where did she go?"

The girl seemed extremely traumatized. After hearing Mrs. Bennett's questions, she began to shake uncontrollably, her eyes darting around fearfully.

"No, don't hit me, don't take off my oxygen mask, don't throw me into the ocean..."

Soon, a female officer came out to comfort the distressed girl.
