Chapter 2

Estrella chuckled lightly, wrapping her arm around me like we were best buds.

"Come on, Callie, just come deep diving with us. I heard the fish tornadoes are even more beautiful there!"

We stood there in a stalemate for quite a while, when suddenly the instructor walked over, attempting to drag me onto the speedboat.

I frantically slapped at him, "Are you deaf? I said I'm not going, can't you understand?"

People around us started eyeing me strangely.

"What's wrong with you, girl? Why can't you appreciate their kindness? They're offering you a free ride."

"Yeah, she must be an idiot."

"Hey bro, do you offer free rides to guys too? I can help you make videos as well."

With no one coming to my aid, I had no choice but to bite down hard on the instructor's arm.

In pain, he released me, but then raised his hand as if to slap me.

I quickly rummaged through my bag for my pepper spray, but Estrella grabbed my arm tightly.

"Callie, they just want to give you a free ride. Why are you being so difficult?"

Her words were answered by a resounding slap. My face was knocked sideways, my ears ringing, as blood dripped steadily from my nose onto the deck.My eyes turned bloodshot as I glared at them with intense hatred. Estrella reluctantly withdrew her hand, muttering under her breath, "What are you glaring at? You bit me out of nowhere, so it's only fair that I slapped you back."

I stared at them for a long moment before suddenly breaking into a laugh. I quickly snatched Estrella's phone and dialed 911 to report the incident.

Before I could finish speaking, Soren grabbed the phone and hung up.

I looked at him fearlessly, "What do you think you're doing in front of all these people?"

Looking around, I noticed that those who had been gossiping earlier had quieted down after seeing the blood. They huddled together, whispering among themselves.

Soren reacted quickly, plastering on a fake smile. He suddenly turned and kicked the other coach.

"Nash, have you lost your mind? How dare you hit a customer? Apologize to Miss Harrington right now."

He then turned to the other customers with an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry you all had to see that. My buddy here was just shocked after being bitten, but I assure you our service is top-notch. I'd appreciate it if you could forget about this incident once we're back on shore."

The people still needed to use their boat to return, so they nodded understandingly. However, their glances towards Estrella were tinged with a hint of schadenfreude.

Ironically, there were still some in the crowd who were just as stupid as Estrella."Hey sis, if you don't want to go, can I tag along? I'd love to see the deep sea world too."

It was suddenly the girl who had gone deep diving with Soren in her past life.

Soren nodded eagerly, then gave Nash a hard kick.

"Hurry up and apologize to Miss Harrington, and take this beautiful young lady with you."

Nash's eyes lit up with interest, and he apologized to me as if he'd been injected with adrenaline.

After accepting his apology, the four of them hopped on a speedboat, while we were about to board our boat to return.

Estrella called out to stop me, but I cut her off and raised an eyebrow, asking.

"What's up? Changed your mind about going?"

She shrank her neck a bit, urging me not to go back to the hotel yet, to avoid her parents finding out we didn't return together.

I snorted and turned to leave.

An hour later, I showed up at the Instagram-famous hotel where both our families were staying, crying and clutching my aching face.

Attracted by my sobs, many people stole glances at me.
