Chapter 7

Callie, how... how did you get here so fast?"

I reached out to catch her, discreetly sticking the pinhole camera on her bag in the process.

"Of course it's because I was worried about you."

I asked with feigned concern, "What's going on today? Why are you in such a bad mood? It couldn't be because of what they said at the police station, could it?"

"Of course it's true! Callie, don't you dare spread rumors. Perjury is against the law, you know."

As she spoke, she pretended to be affectionate and wrapped her arm around mine.

"It's nothing really. It's just that you don't know how beautiful the deep sea scenery is. I feel so disappointed that you couldn't come with me!"

"Callie, before I leave, won't you come with me just once? I have experience now, so I'll definitely take good care of you and make sure you have a perfect experience!"

She kept blinking at me, looking very sincere.

I furrowed my brow. It was exactly as I had suspected.
