Chapter 18: Clash of the Titans
Kael-X had fought countless opponents—machines, enhanced soldiers, even experimental war creatures.
But this was different.
The moment Orion activated Compound-X, the air itself shifted.
"Woah,He used it on himself,so compound X can power humans too" Kael-x thought
The ground beneath him cracked from the sheer energy surging through his body. His veins glowed red, pulsating with raw power. The wind howled, carrying a faint metallic scent—something unnatural.
Kael-X narrowed his eyes beneath his long silver hair. He could feel it.
This was the first time in a while that an enemy might actually be a challenge.
"Wow I didn't expect you to figure how to utilise compound X" Kael said
"Sounds like a mystery" Orion replied
Orion vanished.
Kael-X's body reacted before his mind did. His instincts screamed DANGER—a blur of red light came from the side, moving at a speed that rivaled his own.
BOOM!
A fist slammed into Kael-X's side, sending him soaring backward. The impact was unreal, as if a meteor had just crashed into him.
He twisted mid-air, flipping three times before landing on his feet. The shockwave of his landing shattered the already ruined pavement.
Kael-X smirked. Finally.
"Fast," he muttered. "But not fast enough."
Orion appeared in front of him, his red-glowing eyes locked onto Kael-X.
"Let's test that theory."
---
The Speed War Begins
Kael-X and Orion moved at the same time.
The world blurred.
To an ordinary human, it would seem like nothing was happening. But in their perception, every second stretched into eternity.
The battlefield turned into a storm of afterimages and sonic booms. Each time they clashed, the air itself exploded, sending shockwaves that flattened everything in a hundred-meter radius.
Kael-X threw a punch.
Orion dodged by a hair's breadth. Countered.
Kael-X tilted his head, letting the strike graze his cheek. Retaliated.
Orion blocked the punch—his arms shattered the sound barrier from the force. The impact cracked the earth beneath them.
Faster.
Kael-X increased his speed. Orion matched it.
They vanished and reappeared dozens of times per second, each exchange shaking the battlefield. Ruins collapsed. The sky itself seemed to tremble.
Kael-X's grin widened.
"This is fun."

The Power of Compound-X
Orion wasn't just matching Kael-X—he was adapting.
Each time Kael-X landed a hit, Orion recovered almost instantly. His body restructured itself, his muscles regenerating at an insane rate.
Kael-X threw a devastating punch, aiming to crush Orion's skull.
But this time, Orion didn't dodge.
He took the hit head-on.
BOOM!
Orion slid backward, his feet digging trenches into the ground.
Then, to Kael-X's surprise—he smiled.
"Hurts like hell." Orion rolled his shoulders. "But Compound-X makes me stronger every second."
Kael-X's grin disappeared. This was bad.
Orion wasn't just keeping up.
He was evolving.
---
The Breaking Point
Kael-X had to end this now.
He vanished, reappearing behind Orion. Full force punch—straight to the spine.
But—
"I knew you'd do that."
Orion turned mid-air, catching Kael-X's fist with his own.
For the first time, Kael-X felt resistance.
Then—
Orion's counterattack landed.
A punch to Kael-X's stomach—enhanced by Compound-X.
Kael-X's entire body rocketed backward, tearing through steel, concrete, and rubble before smashing into a collapsed skyscraper.
For the first time in this fight—
Kael-X stayed down.
Orion hovered above the battlefield, his red-glowing aura illuminating the ruins.
"You're strong, Kael-X." His voice echoed. "But not invincible."
Kael-X slowly stood, dusting off his jacket. His silver hair still covered his eyes, but his smirk returned.
"That was a good hit." He cracked his neck. "Now it's my turn."
The real battle was about to begin.
