Acceptance

In the goblin den among the group of newly-born goblins, there lay a gloomy goblin who was staring blankly at the ceiling full of cobwebs right above him.

'Man, this is depressing,' Sam thought to himself looking at his status screen.

After realizing that he had become a goblin, Sam had thoughts of committing suicide immediately.

As in most of the fantasy novels he read in his previous life, goblins were described as the weakest of the weak among all the monsters. The protagonist of those novels killed goblins at the very beginning of the story just to gain basic combat experience.

Goblins also had a bad reputation for capturing females from other species and impregnating them. Sam did not know if things were similar in this new world, but he considered the worst possible scenario just to keep himself mentally prepared for any outcome that might arise.

Sam did not want to die the moment he stepped outside the goblin den, at the hands of all other species that held grudges against his kind.

'Hah'

Sam released a heavy sigh and tried to think about his situation, a bit more objectively this time.

'What are the odds of reincarnating as a human after dying in this world, there's no way I'll take that chance. What if I reincarnate as an insect? And what if I don't get the "system" next time?' Sam thought long and hard, but in the end, he decided against taking his own life.

'I need more information quickly.' Sam decided to check his status screen and know more about his new self. He knew that he couldn't afford to take it easy in this world. No matter what happens he had to get stronger if he wanted to live freely in this world.

Deep down in his heart, he wanted to live a fulfilling life in this world and he was also extremely curious about this new world which he wanted to explore and experience.

With a new determination, he began taking mental note of all the elements present on his status screen.

The good thing was that Sam was familiar with the things present on his status screen, as it was very similar to the status screen of the players in the RPG games of his previous life.

"HP" meant the Health Points that determined how much damage one can take. If the HP value becomes zero it means that the player has died, and in this world, it might mean death.

"MP" meant Mana Points that determined how much mana one possessed which was consumed when the player used magic or skills. As there was MP in Sam's status screen it also meant that this world had the concept of Magic in it.

This realization motivated Sam as he always dreamed of living in a world of Swords and Magic that he read about in the fantasy novels of his previous life.

Studying his status board further, Sam came across the various stats.

Strength- 1

Agility-1

Vitality- 1

Intelligence-2

Endurance-1

Sam thought a bit and decided to not rely on his previous world's knowledge of these stats and made up his mind to understand them by conducting small experiments later.

As for skills and blessing

Skills- None

Blessings- None

Sam knew about the skills that required MP to activate and were divided into 2 types depending on the requirement of MP or lack of it. The former was called active skills; while the latter were called passive skills.

But same as his stats, he decided to confirm it by experimenting with them.

About blessings, he had no idea. He had vague guesses but nothing concrete.

So, instead of dwelling on the unknown, Sam started planning his next actions which involved trying various things to confirm his theories.

Just then he noticed the entry of the same green old goblin and him carrying away goblin infants one at a time deeper into the cave.

He also noticed that he was the only infant goblin left in the vicinity.

Then he saw the same old goblin reaching out to him with the same annoyed expression that he had on his face before.
