Chapter 37: Tanjiro Encounters Danger

The reason the Hand Demon harbored such hatred for Sakonji Urokodaki was because it was Sakonji who had caused him to be imprisoned in Mount Fujikasane.

When the Hand Demon had just turned into a demon, not long after becoming one, Sakonji Urokodaki captured him and brought him back to Mount Fujikasane. The Hand Demon became one of the "examiners" for the final selection, and due to his deep resentment, he killed many of the boys who came to participate in the selection, including some of Sakonji Urokodaki's earlier disciples.

Because of this, the Hand Demon became the strongest demon on Mount Fujikasane and lived until now.

"Tonight, all demons will move out with me to kill that little brat! We'll wash the selection team in blood!" The Hand Demon immediately issued the order to all the gathered demons to surround and eliminate Haru.

"Long live Hand Demon-sama!"

"Long live Hand Demon-sama!"

"Long live Hand Demon-sama!"

Cheers from all the demons echoed through the underground cave, more than ten meters deep.

Meanwhile, under the shade of a tree, Haru, unaware that his actions had stirred the wrath of all the demons on Mount Fujikasane, sat eating some dried food. He didn't know that he had become the target of all the demons' pursuit.

At that moment, Haru was still waiting for nightfall to continue carrying out the tasks assigned by the system.

On the other hand, Tanjiro was continuing his search for Haru, unknowingly bringing danger closer and closer to himself.

As night fell, Haru opened his eyes and stood up under the tree.

The radar map of the Superdimensional Crossing System had also displayed. On the map, there were no red dots indicating the presence of demons, meaning the demons likely needed more time to fully come out and move around.

As for Tanjiro, he mistakenly thought that Haru had gone deep into Mount Fujikasane to hunt demons. So, he led the group deeper into the mountain. Little did he know, after Haru killed the demons the previous night, he had been resting in a safe area marked by his own water pattern symbol and hadn't chosen to venture deeper into the mountain.

Thus, Tanjiro and Haru were completely on different paths.

"Tanjiro, do you think Haru-senpai is avoiding us on purpose? We've been searching for him all day, but we haven't seen him! What should we do if we run into demons?" Zenitsu, a bit exhausted, complained.

Tanjiro's expression was serious, and he didn't respond to Zenitsu's words. By the time night had fully fallen and they still hadn't found Haru, Tanjiro started to doubt whether his decision to come this far had been a mistake.

If something unexpected happened now, would he be able to handle it?

Just as Tanjiro was doubting himself, his nose caught a strong, familiar scent—the smell of demons.

"There's something!" Tanjiro immediately said in a low voice.

As soon as Tanjiro spoke, Zenitsu clung tightly to him and yelled, "Tanjiro! You scared me to death!"

Tanjiro, though somewhat helpless, had long grown used to Zenitsu's reactions. He focused on the scent and soon realized it was coming from a rapidly approaching source.

As the scent grew closer, it became more complex—not just the scent of one demon, but many demons.

"Run toward the base of the mountain!" Tanjiro shouted decisively, not hesitating for a moment. The instinctive sense of danger made him take immediate action.

However, before anyone could move, several shadowy figures jumped out from the trees, blocking the path in front of them.
