"Really~ Really appeared! Tanjiro! We're really going to get eaten!" Zenitsu screamed in despair.
Tanjiro's expression was grim. He immediately yanked Zenitsu off him and shouted, "Zenitsu, pull yourself together! This isn't the time to be pessimistic! Quickly, get behind me!"
The other boys traveling with them gritted their teeth. Encountering five demons at once filled them with absolute despair.
Just facing one demon almost cost them their lives, and now five demons appeared at once. It was likely that they'd be devoured without a trace!
"Tanjiro, there's more behind us!!!!" Zenitsu screamed in terror.
This was the first time Zenitsu had ever faced so many demons in his life.
Screaming, Zenitsu couldn't hold it anymore and fainted from the overwhelming fear.
Tanjiro turned around and saw that there were indeed several demons behind them.
"This is it! We're really going to die here!" The boys who had followed Tanjiro to find Haru all showed despair on their faces.
Tanjiro hadn't expected Zenitsu to be so frightened that he'd pass out, but now, Tanjiro couldn't afford to worry about Zenitsu too much. He kicked Zenitsu lightly and shouted, "Zenitsu, wake up! This is no time to sleep!"
However, his attempts to wake Zenitsu failed, so Tanjiro reluctantly left him for now.
"Heh heh heh~ The fox mask! Looks like we've found him!" One of the demons surrounding Tanjiro and the others chuckled ominously.
"Hold them off, wait for Hand Demon to come and deal with this kid!" another demon said.
Meanwhile, Haru was still advancing deeper into Mount Fujikasane. However, after a while, he didn't see any red marks on the radar map. This made him feel puzzled.
Could it be that his actions from yesterday scared the demons away? Were they too scared to come out now?
Helpless, Haru decided to continue deeper, to see if the demons had hidden deeper within Mount Fujikasane.
Unbeknownst to Haru, his actions had put Tanjiro and the others in grave danger. And Tanjiro, unaware, didn't realize that Zenitsu's fear was about to play a crucial role in reversing the situation.
Surrounded by demons, Tanjiro felt an immense, invisible pressure. Sweat poured down his forehead uncontrollably.
After a long time, Tanjiro noticed that the demons didn't seem to be planning to attack. It seemed like they were waiting for something.
His instincts screamed at him to break the deadlock quickly, or the situation would only worsen, becoming even more dangerous.
Calming himself down, Tanjiro began to regulate his breathing, and he unsheathed his sword from its scabbard.
The demons surrounding Tanjiro immediately stepped back in fear as they saw him draw his sword.
Tanjiro observed the demons' reaction, and it became clear to him. These demons weren't afraid of him—they were afraid of his senpai, Shiroi Haru! Clearly, the massacre Haru had carried out the previous night had left a lasting fear in these demons.
