The darkness of the night seemed to swallow me whole as I walked back to my dorm. The campus was quiet, the only sound being the crickets chirping in the distance. I had just left the library, where I had been studying for an upcoming exam.
As I approached my dorm, I noticed a group of girls lurking in the shadows. They were whispering among themselves, their eyes fixed on me. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized that they were Rachel's friends.
Suddenly, they emerged from the darkness, their faces twisted in anger. Rachel was leading the pack, her eyes blazing with fury.
"You think you can just steal my boyfriend and get away with it?" Rachel spat, her voice venomous.
I tried to defend myself, but they were too strong. They pinned me to the ground, their hands and feet pounding against me. I cried out in pain, but my voice was drowned out by their laughter.
The beating seemed to go on forever, the pain and humiliation etched in my mind like a scar. I thought I was going to pass out, but somehow, I managed to stay conscious.
Just when I thought it was all over, Rachel leaned in close, her breath hot against my ear. "This is just the beginning," she whispered. "You'll pay for what you did to me."
And with that, they left me lying there, broken and battered. I knew that I had to report them, but a part of me was scared. Scared of what they might do next.
As I slowly got up, my body aching all over, I knew that I had to find a way to protect myself. But for now, I just wanted to crawl into bed and forget the whole thing ever happened. Little did I know, this was only the beginning of my nightmare.
