The door to their suite is pushed open with an urgency like no other.
The culprit stands still, eyes facing the ground as a form of respect for the men sitting in the room.
They snap their eyes up simultaneous at the intrusion.
"My Lords, the girl… she has returned." He says softly eyes not daring to stray upwards.
The effect of his words were immediate, Stephen sat up straight, staring at the messenger like he expected him to produce the girl from his pocket.
"Where is she now?." His brother Ian questions, his voice controlled, but deep down he was more than relieved.
"In the infirmary, she seems to have sustained multiple injuries." The boy muttered.
The room temperature dropped to a chilling temperature.
"Sustained injuries? How?" Stephen growls, eyes turning dark.
"I do not know my Lord." The boy quivered.
"Did anyone follow her in?" Ian questioned even though he knew that was impossible.
The golden tests was more or less, the test of the mind, all injuries sustained in the test were erased the minute the candidate was done with the test.
It was impossible to be come back battered and bruised after the test, mentally yes, but physically… it was practically unheard of.
"Sires, there's more." The mummured, chills running down his spine.
"What is it?" Ian questions staring at the boy with such impatience, he wished he could draw the words straight out of his mouth.
"She bears the mark of the phoenix… the onyx phoenix."

She could hear murmuring at first, low and quiet, and then it started growing. The feeling of hands touching her soon followed.
"It's a miracle she survived, only the gods know when she is going to wake." The voice whispered.
Her eyes snapped open.
The doctor let out a high pitched shrill, stumbling backwards.
He shocked expression turned into one of wonder as he stared at her, his eyes not leaving her face.
"My god, it's beautiful" he murmured, stepping closer as he stared at her eye.
Her left eye to be more precise. Her once green eye, was now red. Completely different from the other, utterly mismatched.
"What's beautiful?" A voice questioned beside her, voice groggy.
Snapping her head in that direction she finds Quinn awkwardly spread out on the hospital chair, hands rubbing her eye.
Quinn stopped what she was doing, her eyes taking note of her friend.
Red and green stared back at her blue eyes.
"By the gods, you're a draevan." She rasped, a look in her eyes that Liz couldn't define.
The name did something to Liz, she could feel a cold sensation crawl over her skin. She felt insulted.
The doctor stared amazed as her green eye began to turn a slight orange, Quinn on the other hand felt a weight crushing her.
"Stop that!." She grunted, the force vanishing.
Liz flinched, her eyes going back to normal, well one of them going back to normal. The red seemed to have dimmed to a pale brown.
Draevan
She had heard that word before. She looked at the doctor, her head still reeling with thoughts of where she had heard that word.
Then it hit her,
Blood, so much blood. She was limping, she could barely feel her leg. The monster her nearly nicked it off completely.
She hurt every where, in her chest, in her head and in her left eye, but that didn't matter, she had to keep going. She had to pass this test. She needed answers.
As she limped forward waiting to be transferred to the next location for the next test, a figure emerged from the from the darkness.
"Look what we have here, a draevan." It said quietly, so quite she could barely hear it.
Another figure stepped out, this one taller and wider, with here as white as snow.
"Can you believe it?, a draevan, partaking in the goldens test. You must really have a death wish."
"How did you get in here draevan?, the forsaken have been banned from these parts, you know the consequences."
"It doesn't matter, she isn't leaving here alive."
She lets out a gasp, her eyes snapping open, she hadn't even realized she had shot them.
She could feel a hot liquid running down her nose and into her mouth.
Bringing her hand up to her face she touches the hot liquid and brings it back down.
Blood coats her shaky fingers.
The doctor is scurrying around and thinking of what to do.
Quinn is beside her, fussing and trying her hardest to soak up the blood with tissues.
But one thing stuck to her.
Her eyes caught Quinn's….
She remembered the test.
