Chapter 14 You're fired.

Hudson took two steps forward and swung a punch at Berloff Reed's face.

Berloff sidestepped and gave Hudson a mocking look.

"Fatty, do you really want to fight me?"

"Don't come crying to the cops when I knock your teeth out."

Berloff was tall and muscular, while Hudson, over forty and indulgent in alcohol and other vices, was unsteady on his feet.

If they really fought, Hudson would definitely end up looking like a beaten pig."You bastard!"

Hudson clenched his fists, glaring at Berloff with a false bravado.

"Berloff Reed!" Eliza immediately stepped forward, scolding angrily, "How dare you challenge Hudson? Are you tired of living?"

"Let me tell you, Hudson is good friends with Mr. Derek from our insurance company."

"With just one word, Mr. Derek can have you fired!"

"And then, with a single word in the financial circles, you'll never find another job.""Hmph, just wait. You'll be kicked out of Silk City like a stray dog!"

Hudson's excitement was palpable. "Sweetheart, you're so smart!"

"Damn it, I must have lost my mind to get into a fight with this kid," Hudson muttered to himself. "I could crush him with just one finger!"

Feeling smug, Hudson pulled out his phone and started dialing Mr. Derek from the insurance company.

By now, a crowd of onlookers had gathered around the three of them. Among them were a few of Berloff Reed's colleagues from the insurance company. They pointed at Berloff and whispered among themselves.

"Hey, what's going on here? When did Berloff get on Eliza's bad side?"

"I just heard about it. Apparently, last Friday, Berloff took Eliza to a hotel in a borrowed Audi. When Eliza found out the car wasn't his, she slapped him and stormed off."

"Hah, serves him right! The guy's broke and still tries to show off. Trying to impress Eliza, what a joke!"

"Who's that fat guy standing next to Eliza? He looks like a greasy middle-aged man!""Shh, keep it down! That's Mr. Hudson, the CEO of the trading company upstairs. The guy's worth millions. Even Mr. Derek has to suck up to him."

Hearing this, the colleagues gasped.

"Wow, Berloff is in deep trouble this time, isn't he?"

"No kidding. Trying to steal Mr. Hudson's woman? He's asking for it!"

Berloff ignored the chatter around him, his face set in a cold smile as he stared silently at Hudson.

"Hey, fatty, you know Eliza? Last time she rode in my car, she had over a hundred condoms with her!"

"Only a gold digger like her would catch the eye of a brainless idiot like you."

"Don't bother calling me. I'm here at the Global Tower to quit my job."

Hearing this, Eliza's eyes flared with anger, and she screamed hysterically.

"Reed, stop spreading lies about me!"

"I've always been decent. How could I carry condoms around with me?"

With that, she burst into tears, throwing herself into Hudson's arms.

"Sob... sob...""Darling, this jerk is slandering me in public. You have to stand up for me!"

Hudson put down his phone and hugged Eliza, comforting her. "Baby, don't cry!"

"Mr. Derek will be down soon. Just wait and see how I deal with this guy and get revenge for you!"

His eyes were cold and filled with hatred as he glared at Berloff Reed, wishing he could tear him apart.

This jerk had the audacity to call Hudson's girl a promiscuous woman in front of everyone. It was a blatant slap in the face!

"Mr. Hudson, you urgently called me down. What's going on?"

At that moment, a middle-aged man with a square face, dressed in a suit, hurriedly walked over from the elevator and squeezed into the scene.

"Mr. Derek, you're just in time!" Hudson's eyes lit up as he immediately grabbed the square-faced man and began to explain, painting Berloff Reed as a heinous villain.

After listening, Mr. Derek's face darkened, and he glared at Berloff with a menacing look. "Are you an employee of my insurance company?"

"That's right," Berloff replied nonchalantly, nodding his head.Mr. Derek snorted coldly. "You dare offend Mr. Hudson and openly slander a female colleague? You've got some nerve!"

"I hereby announce that you're fired! Get out of Global Tower immediately!"

Berloff crossed his arms, his expression turning slightly cold. "Mr. Derek, you're going to fire an employee just based on this fat guy's one-sided story? That's impressive!"

"Even so, I still have personal belongings upstairs in my office. I haven't completed the formal exit procedures. On what grounds are you kicking me out like this?"

A flash of anger crossed Mr. Derek's eyes."On what grounds? On the grounds that I'm the general manager of this insurance company!"

"Kid, I advise you to take the easy way out. Otherwise, you'll be crying later!"

Berloff chuckled lightly. "Oh, really? What if I insist on going upstairs to pack my personal belongings before leaving? What can you do about it?"

"Haha!" Mr. Derek laughed angrily at Berloff's words.

"Our insurance company is a client of Global Tower. Are you itching for trouble by challenging me?" Mr. Derek glared and waved to the head of security nearby."Mr. Odell, this guy has already been kicked out by our company, yet he still refuses to leave. What do you plan to do about it?"

Mr. Odell, a burly man carrying a baton, stormed over with a few of his men in tow, looking fierce and intimidating.

"Mr. Derek, for a little punk like this who doesn't know his place, we'll just throw him out!" Odell's men chimed in, shouting at Berloff Reed.

"Yeah, this guy needs to learn the rules around here!"

"Kid, do you think Global Tower is a place where you can act out? Take a good look at yourself!"Facing the taunts from Mr. Odell and his men, Berloff Reed laughed angrily.

"The entire Global Tower belongs to me, and you still dare to lay a hand on me? If anyone's looking for trouble, it's you!"

The room fell silent for a few seconds after Berloff's words, then erupted in uproarious laughter.

"Hahaha... This is killing me! He actually said Global Tower is his!"

"Kid, how much have you had to drink in broad daylight?"

"This guy must be out of his mind, saying something so shameless!"Hudson and Eliza clung to each other, laughing hysterically, their eyes full of mockery.

"Kid, if the Global Tower is yours, I'll lick your shoes every day!"

Mr. Derek was also at a loss, thinking his employee had lost his mind.

"Sigh, looks like I need to call the mental hospital."

Mr. Odell spat on the ground, casting a contemptuous glance at Berloff Reed.

"Kid, get out now, or I'll break your legs!"

Ring, ring, ring...

At that moment, Berloff's phone started ringing.
